I got my very first piercing about 2 years ago. And I say very first because I didn't even get standard lobe piercings when I was young, like almost every little girls. No need to say that I was really REALLY nervous.
At A Glance Author Lily When Two years ago Studio RPM tattoo & piercing Location st-jean, Qc This all started one day when my friend started to talk about stretching her lobes down to 2 g and that she was really excited about that AWESOME pair of plugs she saw at the piercing shop. I envied her excitement...I wanted something to crave too!! I told her how I felt naked about not having any piercings. She got up and yelled "I'm so getting you a piercing for your birthday!!" First we talked about lobes. It's never too late to get them pierced, no? But I wanted something a bit more special. Lip? My parents would kick me out of the house. Eyebrow? My sister got one. Cartilage? Oooh it's getting interesting...INDUSTRIAL!!! That's what I wanted.
I spend months getting information on industrial piercings (my birthday wasn't that close so I had a lot of time. And this is also when I discovered BME.) The more my birthday approached, the more I couldn't stand the wait. I watched so many pictures of industrial piercings and got really jealous of people having them, hehehe. Then d-day arrived...and I missed it because my alarm didn't wake me up and I was 2 hours late for the appointment. Oh was I angry. We got there anyway and there was no one so I could get my oh so wanted industrial piercing. Now I have to say I'm really sorry because I totally forgot the name of the piercer. I saw her only twice at that shop because she quit not long after I got my piercing and I feel terribly bad for not remembering her name because she was awesome.
Anyway, we got in the piercing room and she put stuff on my ear and marked it at the angle I wanted. The marks were perfect so I sat down on the chair. This is when I started to breathe faster and realize "Oh my god, this is it." She saw my reaction and laughed and said "Oh it won't hurt. don't worry". I read that for an industrial piercing, you better get pierced with rings, wait for it to heal then get the industrial jewelry. The piercer got a pair of 14g rings and off we went!! I gave my ok and she got the clamps in place. They hurt quite a bit so I started to get scared a little (I didn't know that most of time, the clamps hurt more than the piercing itself, hehehe.) I closed my eyes and waited. Little pinching sensation. Nothing. Another pinch. Nothing. Then I heard "It's done!". "What? That's IT?" The piercer and my friend laughed as I layed there surprised. This didn't hurt AT ALL. I looked in the mirror and fell in love. I instantly started to think "I want MORE. I won't be complete without more. This isn't going to stop now. oh hell no." I thanked the piercer millions of times, payed, thanked more and then went home. I couldn't wait to show my new piercing, my very first one. A couple of months later, for my friend's birthday, I bought 2 pairs of 2g plastic pinchers for the dear person who got me my first piercing. All in all, everyone got what they wanted.
Back to my piercing, the healing went really well, I had trouble cleaning it the first and second days because moving the rings killed me. I couldn't handle the pain and had to ask my mom to do it for me. Also my boyfriend wouldn't stop trying to play with them, making me slap him numerous times (and making him say "If you get more piercing and slap me every time I touch them, I going to leave you, man beater!")But I didn't regret the piercing even once. When it was completely healed (it took about six months) I changed the rings for an industrial bar and got to finally see the result. I loved it even more. And I still love it. This is my favorite piercing (I have 6 now) and I don't want to ever take it off. I anyone wants to get one and is not sure I say go for it! Take your time to get informations on what you really want and don't be afraid to ask questions to your piercer! This is an amazing piercing and you will never get tired of it.
The RPM tattoo & piercing shop is a great place to go, they have great employees and a great jewelry choice (made of surgical steel and titanium). And I just remembered the name of the piercer!! Thank you Kathleen!!
