Night One
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When It just happened Artist me Studio my house Location new jersey A few hours ago I shoved a 4ga taper into my ear lobes. My ears were an 8ga up until a little while ago. I've only been stretching my ears for about a month now (I know this is isn't good, I should be going slower), but somehow I got the thing through.
I cleaned the taper with some peroxide, then I cleaned my ears aswell. I lubed the thing up with Neosporin, this worked really good. I figured a bunch of pain and then pretty new tunnels to show for it. Easier said than done.
Although I have 10 ear piercings, I still can't stand pain, but I wanted to do it. So I sat down in front of the mirror, and pushed slowly. I found it much easier to pull the bottom of my lobe down and then push the taper through. I also put a black o-ring on the part of the taper that already went through my ear, because I found that it was slowly slipping back out and I needed something to hold it in. The whole process wasn't very difficult, just painful. It wasn't the worst pain, but it did hurt.
After the taper was through my first ear, I put a 6ga tunnel up against the end of the taper. However, the tunnels were flared on both sides, and I guess I judged the size of the flares incorrectly. It went a little less than half way, and then hurt. A lot. I tried again and again, but no luck. I forced it out, and then put the taper in. Now there was blood everywhere.
I left the taper in for quite a while, then I took out my old "plugs" which were just q-tips repeatedly covered in tape. They were about a size eight, so I wrapped them in some more tape, making them about the size of the end of the taper. It slid right in with some extra room. Now it was time for the second ear, oh the joy.
This ear never seems to stretch as well as the other, and almost always hurts more. I got the taper about 3/4 of the way through, and gave up. I put the other o-ring on it and now I'm just going to wear this for a while. This ear surprisingly didn't bleed at all.
I would love if the taper would go through my second ear, and I would love it even more if those tunnels were in my ears. I shall try again tomorrow. One last piece of advice, please, if you're going to buy tunnels, buy ones with only one flare, save yourself the trouble.
Night Two
This time has more of a happy ending. I couldn't stand my ears being a about a 4ga so I decided that tonight I would try and get my tunnels through. This afternoon I was playing with my dog and he jumped on my ear, pushing my taper through all the way up to the end of it. I screamed. However, at least now it was in, so I started my journey on my getting my 6ga double flared tunnels in.
I found that someone on this website had the bright idea of getting the end of paintbrushes and shoving those through your ear, because they were like a taper. I found two of them at pretty much the perfect size. One was slightly bigger that the 4ga taper that I had, and the next one after I measured was about a 2ga.
I know that I'm crazy for stretching all the way to a 2ga to get some 6ga tunnels in, but I don't care. I cut the brush part off of the paintbrushes so I just had the stick up to the thickest point on it (they got a little thinner towards the end). I also filled the sharp part of the end. After lubing it up with Neosporin again, I pushed it though. Every time it refused to budge, I would let it sit in my ear for about three minutes, then push again. To tell you the truth, this really didn't hurt at all. When I got it through, I put the tunnel right against it, pushed and it slid right in.
It bled quiet a bit, but I was ok with that, you could finally see through my ear! Ok, so then I did this with the ear that is always harder to stretch. This one was at least ten times easier than the previous ear. Again, the tunnel slid in with ease. More blood.
I was so happy to get them in, and they look really nice. I hope it will be easy to stretch up to a 2ga as soon as my ears heal, I'm actually giving them time to heal now because of how much I love my new tunnels. So again, don't buy tunnels with flares on both sides, and don't be such an idiot like me and stretch so quickly, I'm lucky all this didn't mess up my ear... yet. Until next time...
