I have always loved the look of different piercings and wanted to get a few myself. My parents are very strict and stubborn and would not let me get anything but a simple cartilage piercing, which I would not have been satisfied with. After a few weeks of looking on BME and trying to find a reasonable piercing my parents might agree to, I found the industrial. I feel in love with it right away, it was different and I did not know anyone that had it.

I talked to my parents about it and said I would call a few places and find out a good place to get it done. But my parent were not the problem, it was my job. They said that I would have to change the barbell when I come into work and replace it with two CBRs. I was confused because there was no point in changing it, I could see if they did not want the piercing at all, but why two CBRs instead of the bar? Knowing that the jewelry could not be changed right away I had no choice but to get it pierced with two CBRs. I was a little upset because I wanted the industrial bar right away, but at least my parents let me get it done.

So I ending up going to a piercing place around the corner, the same place where my mom got her tattoo a few years ago. That was another reason I was initially mad my parents would not let me get piercings, if my mom got a tattoo I can get an industrial. The place is very clean and explained the entire procedure to me.

I had to wait for two girls to get their tongue pierced then it was my turn. I was nervous because this was my first piercing, and I had to be pierced twice! The girl who pierced me was very nice and she said that she was going to use two 14g CBRs. I said I wanted it on my right side so she marked it. She positioned the CBRs so when I come back to get the bar I could use 1 ¼" in. Everything was all set and so I laid down on the chair while she was making finial preparations. She told me to breathe in and let it out, and when I did I felt her push the needle through. It was more painful that I thought it would be, but it was bearable. I didn't realize that the needle was still in my ear and she still had to push the CBR through. This was almost more painful that the piercing itself. After the first hole was done I had an adrenalin rush. This helped the next piercing because it wasn't as painful, or it didn't seem like it.

The piercing itself didn't take as long as I though it would. The piercer told me to sit up and asked if I was lightheaded or dizzy. I wasn't but I just sat there for a while because I didn't want to get up and have to sit back down. When I got up and looked in the mirror I was so happy! It looked great and even though I did not have the barbell in, it still looked good. She went over the after care and gave me solution to clean it with and I gave her $40. I asked when I could come in a get it changed to a barbell. She said about a year before I could change it back and forth without a problem, which bummed me out because I wanted it soon. I left and went home and took about 3 painkillers to numb the throbbing pain.

The CBRs got in the way when I would change my shirt or brush my hair, but if I was careful, they weren't a problem. I was cleaning it daily and I made sure I slept on my left side. I would occasionally roll over and wake up if I had been sleeping on my right side, but my ear was only a little sore. My ear was a little swollen for a week then it went down to normal size. I was so happy and I was getting a lot of compliments, but I still couldn't wait to get the bar. I only worked for another month before I quit because I could not put up with the job. This meant that I could put a bar in without having to take it out! I waited a couple more weeks and went in to the place were I got it done and asked the piercer if I could change it over to a bar. She said I could because it has been about two months after I got it done. I went into the same room and she easily took the CBRs out and put the bar in. Finally, I have the industrial that I have been waiting for! There was a little pressure because the two holes now had a bar instead of the separate CBRs but I didn't even notice because I was so happy I now had my industrial.

It has been a month after I got the bar and ever thing is going great, I just got my rook pierced and I love it! I'm happy with my industrial and if you are hesitant to get it done, you should go for it because it is worth every penny! Have fun piercing!
