First off, I would like to say that Troy, Sophie, Ricky and all the other people that are at Delusions are awesome including their three kids. I think it's great to be able to go to a place where you feel like you have a relationship with the people who are sticking sharp objects through your body, instead of a random person that just sits you up in a chair and stabs a needle through your body. And that is exactly what you get when you go to Delusions; it's a very comfortable atmosphere.

Troy has done three of my piercings my conch, my unusual industrial and my snug. I got my industrial done the same day that I got my snug done and I got my conch done a week or so before.

I didn't have any problems with any of them until about a week after I got my industrial and snug. My ear were my industrial first started was swollen massive and it was so so so painful, I went in and let Troy look at it and he said I wasn't cleaning it with the right stuff, he cleaned it up, told me what to buy and to clean it three times a day for three days to make sure I got all of the little corners and I was gone. After that it started to heal just fine. About three days later my snug started to swell a lot I was cleaning it the way Troy had told me to and I was putting anti-bacteria ointment on it and everything but it just kept swelling. Then my ear started to try and eat it, yes that's right my ear was swelling around the jewelry causing it to "sink" into my ear, my ear was trying to eat my piercing. It hurt really bad, my ear was red and swollen like crazy. You could barley see the ball anymore and I was getting worried, I figured if I kept cleaning it the swelling would go down and it would be ok so I continued to clean it for about two days after it started swelling and it just kept getting worse. Finally, I called Troy and told him what was going on and told him I was coming in to let him look at it. So I skipped the last two classes I had and drove to Marshalltown with my friend Kristen, who always comes along when I get pierced, and went to Delusions. Troy wasn't there when I first got there he had gone to pick up his kids at school. I walked in and showed it to Sophie and she asked if I had been sleeping on it and of course I had woken up a few times laying on it.

When Troy got back he looked at it and told me to go back to the piercing room. I laid down on the chair and he looked at it, he got the needle nose pliers and unscrewed the ball that wasn't swollen into my ear, and then asked how I was doing. My ear was very sensitive but I couldn't really feel that much pain all I could feel was a whole lot of pressure. Then he pushed the jewelry out and I felt the threads go through (that hurts!!) He called Sophie in and showed her how bad the swelling was after it was out and I got to look too, It was pretty bad (out of the three times I've been pierced there Troy has called Sophie back to the room to see something that's going on with me and my piercing, he hilarious). Then he put in a flexible bar in and screwed the balls back on, right after he was done I felt 10 times better. He told me that the swelling would go down and that I would probably be able to see the flexible bar after it heals and that after it does heal to go back and he would change my jewelry again.

Now my ear is just fine the swelling has gone down and it's not even sore anymore. I'm still cleaning it, of course, and trying not to sleep on it. I'm thinking of going back either this week or next, to get another industrial on my other ear but I'm not sure if that's all I want to get done yet.

Now that I've gotten pierced at Delusions three times, I will NEVER go anywhere else Troy, Sophie and Ricky are great people, and Troy takes good care of me and all of his other customers too I'm sure. Sophie is HILARIOUS she's always laughing when I go in there. I'm counting down the days till I turn 18 and can go get my first tattoo done there.
