A bit of background I think.

I am no virgin to piercings but I always want someones opinion of what it's like, so, BME experiences helped me so I hope my experience helps someone else.

I have 8 lobe piercings, 4 cartilage piercings, nose piercing, naval piercing, ...and finally, my brand-spanking new tragus piercing!

I saw someone with a tragus piercing about 5 years ago and thought it look gorgeous, but also that it would hurt way too much for me to ever consider it!Though I love piercing I terrified of pain, even though I've been told I have a high pain tolerance!

Skip forward 5 years and I had that oh so common itch after 3 months of no piercings.

I had no idea what I wanted, so I thought I would while away my time looking at pictures on the internet, this is how I found my new saviour, BME! I spent ages looking at the pictures and reading ALL of the experiences, taking note of the good and bad. Then I saw the tragus piercing again, and I loved it just as much as the first time I saw it, and now I had a brilliant source to find out how painful it was, the experiences!

It was either going to be my tongue or my tragus and I decided on my tragus because while my parents don't mind my piercings they are adamant that facial piercings lead to a life of being a bum!

So, in respect of my parents feelings, it was to be my tragus. But hopefully my tongue will become an experience soon!

I heard all about the cracking and the sleeping on it and figured if other people can do it, then so can I!

I have always gone to Marie, she works from her home but don't worry, she has a separate room with the doctors table and all equipment and jewellery separately wrapped and sterilised. So I rang and booked.. I had to wait 2 weeks! She was going on holiday, I couldn't believe it, but I advise anyone in the same position not to go to some other piercer they don't know, you always have to wait for quality.

So I waited and the day was finally here!

I was actually quite calm on the way, which is surprising for me, I'm usually panicking like hell by this point!

She was having a quiet day so she cleaned the room and took me straight up.

Marie is the kind of person that calms you because she's so down to earth, so from this point on it was plain sailing! She told me all about her tragus piercings which had got pulled out, Ow!, but at least she was honest and warned me it could happen.

She gave the lecture on cleaning, I chose my wonderful blue titanium hoop, and she got me to lay down. She put the freezing stuff on which makes the most horrendous sound ever and she just did it!

"Done now". Course, I'm not aware its happened, go to turn my head and say "what?" and it comes out as "Whaaaah!" cause Ive pulled the needle a bit!

"Too late to say it hurts love, the needles already through"

We have a bit of a laugh at my complete absent mindedness of the whole procedure as she puts the hoop in with no struggle at all,no pain, nothing!

I didn't hear a crack, but this could be because I wasn't paying an awful lot of attention, or maybe because I have hearing problems, but Marie said she heard it!

I have to say, this was one of the easiest piercings I ever had, 1 week later no pain, no crusties, only the tiniest little bruise you have ever seen in you're life!

Though, I don't think this is everyones experience, when one of my friends saw it she said her friend had had it done and it was horribly pain and he couldn't move his jaw for 2 days without it being painful! So its really important you go to a good piercer with a good reputation, one bad piercing experience could turn you off for life!

If you're in the Abingdon area I recommend Marie, she is totally honest and she doesn't mind going through things with you, and if you have any problems she tells you to go back and see her, she doesn't care when you do as long as you do! Also, her prices are very resonable, it only cost me £25 for 30 minuites of her time and a coloured titanium hoop. (by the way, the piercing didn't take 30 mins, she just like to chat!)

If you're considering this piercing, just go for it,don't work yourself up with 3 weeks deciding, it looks cool, it doesn't hurt and, after all, who can resist that itch...!
