I have wanted my snug pierced for months now. After reading other people's snug stories, and hearing about how painful it was supposed to be, I started to chicken out (even though I have two navel piercings, several ear piercings, and a tattoo). But the more I looked at the pictures, the more and more I wanted to get it done. No one I know has it, and I really wanted something different.

I was already in my pajamas and I didn't really want to go out. But I was bored. Really really bored. And I had promised myself the night before, that if I had Monday off, I would get my snug pierced (so it wouldn't hurt at work...). So, out of nowhere, I just said, 'hey do you guys want to go get something pierced?' I didn't think they would say yes, but since one of them loves tattoos she was up for going and looking around. And my other friend was up for the fun too.
So we went. My friends looked at some tattoos while I talked to some guy behind the counter. He wasn't Bill. And I wasn't about to go to someone who was new. And he kept saying he'd pierce it with a ring and I kept saying no, I want a barbell. So this is when the disappointment set in...That was, of course, until my friend saw Bill. He came out and was like, 'its been a while.' My friend showed off her hot 3 hour tattoo that was across her chest and my other friend was looking around for some jewelry to gauge out her tongue some more, but they didn't have to right size. He was impressed by the tattoo and told my friend where to get the jewelry she needs.
We asked where he had been, and Bill said he had been in Florida - which was made obvious by his tan. He said he was going back to Florida and it was his last night in CT. He wouldn't be back until the winter. I wasn't about to wait to get it pierced, I had the balls right at this moment and I was ready. I think that him being there was a sign to get it done right then and there. If he wasn't there, I would not have gotten it done. He has done all of my piercings so far, so I wasn't about to change that. He is very good at what he does and he is really cool. I have been very happy with his work so far and I will only go there and get something done when he is there.
I asked him if he could do it and how much it would cost, all those basic questions. He knew it by a different name but he said that he could do it, no problem, and it was cheaper than my other piercings. I was excited. We looked through the jewelry and picked one out that would fit. Then I filled out the necessary paperwork and payed. It was almost time.
My friends came in the room with me. It was clean and the equipment was sterile as always. He cleaned and marked my ear and explained to the new kid about this type of piercing - measuring the jewelry and my ear and all that jazz. I waited and watched the girl across the way tattoo a tiger on some guy's arm. And then it was time. This is when I thought about all the people on here who said it hurt or they passed out. I braced myself and got ready for all the pain that I was supposed to feel. But to my surprise, it was quick and I barely felt a thing. I heard the needle pop through my cartilage and felt a tiny pinch. He put the barbell in and it started to bleed. Not too bad though. It stopped after he applied a little pressure. He cleaned it again and let me look at the finished product. It was perfect! Exactly where I wanted it.
I got all the care instructions - all those ones that I'm already used to, then I thanked him, and left. Very happily may I add. We went out to eat and it was throbbing a little. I couldn't stop looking in the mirror that was near the booth we were sitting in. The redness lasted maybe and hour or so. But it barely hurt at all. Got it caught on my hoodie before I went to bed. I slept fine, rolled over on it only once - not too bad. Washing is a bit of a challenge, but it's quite painless. No crusties or anything this morning. A Q-tip and some Dial and it's good to go.
I don't know what everyone else was talking about when they said it was 'oh so painful' because it wasn't. It was far from it.
My only problem is, what do I pierce next?
