I remember the first time a saw a tragus piercing. I didn't know what it was called at the time. I was 15 and a girl that I worked with had hers done. I thought it was the cutest thing ever. But I was 15 at the time and couldn't get it done at the time. So I waited until I turned 18.

I decided I could only handle one piercing at a time. So I decided to get my tongue pierced and let that heal before I would get my tragus done. So I had my tongue done and it is fully healed now, and I decided I was ready for my next piercing.
It is true what they say, piercings are addictive. This is my first year in college, and I knew that before long I would eventually have my tragus pierced since I was free from home.
I was looking on bme.com about traguses and if they hurt or not, and I looked at pictures. The more I looked the more and more I wanted one. I loved my other piercings so much, I decided that it was going to be done, I just didn't know exactly when.
It was a sporatic moment when I decided to get it done. I came back to my room from class one day and I was like, I'm going to go get my tragus pierced now. So I called up my friend and she said she would go with me since she had to tip the guy at the same place who tattoed her.
We went to Bulldog, and I was immediately greeted by this very nicely tattoed guy. He was very nice and friendly. My fried was tattoed a few weeks ago by him. He did very nice work. I was a little nervous of getting my tragus pierced. I had my tongue done and my friend kept saying..."it can't hurt worse than your tongue." I have both my helix's pierced and 2 lobe piercings in each ear. But I remember hearing that traguses hurt to get pierced.
So I filled out the standard paper work, and Mark made a copy of my I.D. He was so nice and friendly and joked around with me. I felt comfortable. I picked out the jewelry that i wanted, which was a 16g ring. He took be back into the back and made me sit in a chair. The chair felt like a chair at the dentist's office.
Next he marked the ear and asked me if i liked the placement. I looked in the mirror and said it was fine. I was holding my friend's hand. Mark asked me if I wanted him to tell me when he was going to pierce it or just sort of do it. I said just do it. I squeezed my friend's hand tight and felt the tiniest pinch in my ear, followed by a little pressure. It wasn't bad AT ALL. No popping noise or anything. He put the jewelry in, popped in the ball, and cleaned me up. I bled a bit, but not really that much. I looked in the mirror and I LOVED it. I paid for the piercing and I tipped the guy. If I want any body modifications done over the next 4 years I am in the burg, I will definetly go see Mark. He is a great piercer.
Next he told me what I did to take care of it. He said i needed to just clean it twice a day with Ear Care I had from Claire's, and to rotate it when I cleaned it. The first time I tried to clean it, it hurt so bad I couldn't rotate it. But since then it has gotten easier.
My piercing didn't hurt at all the first day I got it pierced. I couldn't sleep on it that night, and if i rolled over onto it, I would wake up in pain. The next day it was better, but really hard to clean because it hurt a little. Every day it has gotten slowly better. It didn't hurt barely at all, and I would encourage people to get it done.
My mom is getting kind of tired of my piercing obsession, but she's dealing with it better. Hey, at least I don't have any facial piercings.
I would highly recommend Bulldog to anyone who wants a piercing from the Virginia Tech area. They are really clean and very nice people. ALso, the tattoes there are great. I would never get a tattoo, but they are beautiful.
I think my next piercing is going to be my rook in the other ear, or maybe another helix. But I'm going to wait a few months for this one to heal.
