Hey. I'm Chloe and this is the story of my ninth piercing sitting all shiny in my right snug. I wasn't really planning on getting a new piercing (added to my mother banning me from the going and refusing to sign for any) but on Saturday I received quite a late birthday present from my uncle and I had to go to town to buy school shoes anyway. So my mother and I get in to the car and are almost in town when I raise the subject of a new piercing as I had money (I already had three in my left ear, two in my right ear and three in my navel) and we discussed where I would have it. When we got to town, the piercing place had just opened much to my joy as my mother had said that if it wasn't open then I couldn't get one done.

As we went in, one of the guys (whose name I can't remember) asked what I wanted done and I said an ear. So he got the form and asked if I had been there before (I had) and he said that he remembered me from my last one (when I got my third navel piercing and my left tragus done) so I just got my mother to sign the form and we waited for Phill, who has pierced me several times before. As we waited I paid (£15), then Phill came in and asked where exactly I wanted done. He looked at it then said he wasn't sure if he could do it with a CBR so I may need a bar instead; I agreed and gave them an extra £5 for it. Then he came and looked at my ear closely and said he wasn't sure if he was able to do it. So I asked if I could have an industrial instead, he got confused and when I showed him he kinda clicked and said he knows it as a scaffolding and told me I couldn't because of my ear shape (I apparently have good ears for tragus piercing but bad ones for industrials!).

After this, Sandra came in and came to look also. She said that she could do it as it is like an anti-tragus but higher up and that it could be done with a CBR. Yay! About five minutes later she was ready to pierce me and I went into the room.

I sat down on the chair whilst Sandra donned the gloves and Phill came into watch. Sandra said she would first clean about my ear then make a mark on my ear and then if I wanted I could move it up or down. But as usual, she got it in exactly the right place first time. She then put some cotton wool into my ear and froze it (which always tickles me...strange having ticklish ears) then I got ready for the actual piercing. As Sandra talked me through the piercing I knew what was going to happen. The needle didn't really hurt but as she went to get the CBR, Phill said he was feeling a little faint! Then he left the room as I had the ring put in, which always hurts more that the needle. The ring went in fine but the ball bit would not go into place and the first one popped out of place and a new one had to be got from a different ring. Then it was all in place and I loved it instantly! I thanked Sandra then went outside and everyone wanted to look at it and said it looked cool.

I left to do what I originally planned: to buy new shoes for my final year. Halfway down the road I had to hold onto my mother as I felt woozy so she bought me a very sugary drink which made me better.

It didn't really hurt, except when I hit it on my boyfriend's shoulder (he's too tall!) and when it got knocked slightly when I went out that night. Otherwise it has been fine, I wash it three times a day once in the shower using soap and water then two times during the day using salt water. My friends find it amusing to compare my ears as the right one is swollen and red despite the lack of pain. I love my snug piercing as no-one I know has it so it makes it special and unique to me. It's my present to my self to return to school as I know I will be asked what I had done over summer. I would recommend this to anyone, it looks cool and different and hardly hurts. I might get the ring changed to a bar sometime as the ring sticks out and it's a little awkward as I have caught it on my hairbrush more than once (due to forgetting that it was there). Happy piercing all! x
