Ahhh yes, I am back again. Surfing BME like usual I decided I wanted anather piercing. Of course BME Is the place and I find exactly what I want-snug piercing. I ask my mom, its all good with her (she says no face piercings till' Im 15 but I can get whatever I want on my ears). Well, I was going to go up to Courtenay and go to Evolution but my mom says she was going to Nanaimo and I could go to the place Jolene-my cousin-got her tattoo done at, plus my step dad knows Roland really well. So off we go!

In we go, there is a few people who worked there behind the counter, one person was designing a tattoo and the other was there to greet me! She asked what I wanted and remembered I had made an apointment.
Roland comes out and says he actually doesnt know what a snug is and was telling my parents that people make up funny names for things. So he got out his portfolio and was going threw all the different things he had done on ears. Its actually kind of funny, He thinks I dont know anything-telling me that that was conch and that was tragus-but I knew what he was talking about.
He finally is flipping threw the pages and I see what I want. "that," I say, "but a little higher". So he smiles and says "Ive been trying to get someone to get that done for months. Ive actually never pierced that before and Ive been excited to do it!" So I was happy, I was going to have a very unique piercing!
So he goes into the room in the back and cleans up and gets ready while I pick my jewelery out. I just got a small barbell, I had actually chose 14 gauge but he said 16 would work better. I used my bank card and it came to $83 or so. More than I was expecting but thats okay. I sighned the legal papers and read the written agreement and all that jazz.
He actually took a very long time getting things ready, he was in the room and me and my mom were looking at tattoos. My mom really wanted me to get a tattoo and started off saying that if I wanted I could get a tiny tattoo instead. She asked the lady how old I had to be, etc, etc. The lady said that they normally wouldn't do a tattoo on a 14 year old but they might make an exception. I didnt want to rush into anything so I just said I'd get my lovely snug!
What seemed like a really long time later, Roland comes out and says, "Okay you can come in now." It was amazing how many times he changed his gloves, but I know thats a good thing.
I went and sat on the bed thing while he got things ready some more. He then had a toothpick, which kind of scared me, I remember thinking "is he going to pierce me with a toothpick?" But he had some ink in it and was marking my ear. He drew some marks, got the mirror and it was perfect! The placement was awesome!
So he changes his gloves again and gets out some cleaning stuff. Cleans my ear a bunch of times and changes his gloves again. Then I sit for awhile while he gets the needles and things ready. He gets a large clamp thing out and puts it on my ear. It was horribly painfull and he could see that it was hurting and he asked "Would you prefer to do it free hand?" I said, "its going to hurt either way so whatever is easyest for you." he laughed and put the clamp back on.
The whole time this is going on he is talking to my step dad rob about his kids and his life and stuff. Rob and him are good friends and it made me far more comfortable to be around him, especially with a needle. He was telling my mom that I looked far older than 14 and when I went back to school next year Rob would have to be scaring all the boys away from the door. They laughed back and forth about a boy coming to the door to Rob. I laughed to, they were making this all so much easyer.
I was suprisingly not nervous at all. He got the needle out and fiddled with the clamp some more and changed his gloves again. Then he got the needle ready. I had never seen it done like that before. he had the barbell hooked to the end of the needle so he would push it threw and the bar would go along in behind it. It seemed easyer, smart way to do it! So he tells me to take a deep breath in and out.
I feel a sharp pain, not horribly bad, the clamp was hurting much more. I say, "Is it done?" He laughs a bit and says "not yet. I enjoy hurting people, is that wierd?" I laughed. Roland was awesome! Over and over I remember saying "is it threw yet?" And he just kept saying "not yet" He told me to keep taking deep breaths. he had to push really hard to get the needle threw, and near the end the pain was getting so horrible, even my toes were clenched.
One last time, "Is it done?" slight pause and then "Yup!" i was so relieved! It hurt alot, but was so worth it! He gave me the mirror and I fell in love! It was red, bleeding, and beautiful! He went over proper aftercare, and told me in 6 weeks come in and get it checked and that he wanted a picture when it was healed for his portfolio.
I left a very happy camper! That was untill about 2 weeks later. It was easy to sleep on, kind of awkward to clean, easyer once the swelling went down. But one day we went boating and I fell off the tube and hit my ear so hard that I lost the ball on one end. I dont live close to Tranceformations so my mom said she would take me down the next day to get it fixed.
I went the next day but the piercer was in a meeting, but the secretary person would put the ball on for me. (she told me it might have grown over because it had swelled so much but she couldnt re-pierce it because she wasnt a verified piercer) So she got all stuff out, cleaned my ear and tryed getting the ball on. She was having a very hard time, but in the end got it on!
Its been about a week since then, and Its perfect! I reccomend this to anyone and everyone! You'll love it, I am actually planning on going and getting anather snug on top of the other one done! Good luck to you all! HAPPY PIERCING!!
