This piercing is actually the transvertical-lobe piercing but this is the closest category I was able to find.

I already have my ears done 3 times each, I used to have a cartilage piercing on my right ear but it closed over a few years ago. I also have my nose pierced and my navel. (My story is on bmezine.com as 'my pink bar'.)
However, I was not satisfied and after spending a lot of time with my extremely pierced friend Siena, I decided to go get a new piercing!
I could not decide whether to get a transverse lobe piercing, transvertical lobe piercing or a snug piercing.
I researched them all on BMEzine and thought the transvertical lobe piercing looked the best, as well as the most complicated.
I did not really think about how much it would hurt or what the whole piercing process involved, I just knew that I wanted it done and as soon as possible; before I changed my mind! So I texted my favourite piercist, Star, of Starchild Body Piercing and he told me the details. It usually costs £35 but I have been going there for all my piercings so I got a £10 discount, costing me a total of £25 which I thought was a reasonable price for a piercing of this type.
I went straight in the next day with my friend Amy and said what I would like. I was not nervous at first and I remained calm throughout the whole procedure, which surprised Amy more than it surprised me because usually I am shaking when I am getting a piercing.
He asked which ear and straight or at an angle. I said my left ear (to even out my piercings because my nose stud in on the right side of my nose) and straight down.
Star said it was going to hurt even though he did numb it and said the worst part will be the attaching of the clamp. He then clamped it which, to his and my surprise, did not hurt at all. The actual piercing, on the other hand, hurt more than anything. It lasts a while because it consists of two piercings. It sort of collapses the ear first then pierces it.
I trusted my piercer to do a good job, which he did do. But I was very nervous when he said about the collapsing of the tragus and the pain.
There were two assistants passing the piercer all the necessary equipment which made it easier for him to do the piercing.
Star said once the needle is in, there is no way of knowing whether it has been done correctly until the clamp comes off. That piece of information really scared me because I was thinking all sorts of wacky things like what if my ear slits in half or something?! But luckily, it didn't! The piercing was a success!
The whole piercing process took about 5 minutes and after it was finished, the piercing bled a bit.
It felt strange but everyone loved it! One person told me it looked very unique, which I agree with. Its not a common piercing and it is usually my friends which have the weird and wonderful, different style piercings but this spur-of-the-moment / next-day piercing was my chance to shine. My whole style had changed from girly to a more gothic style now because of my piercing. I love it!
It is now two days since I had my piercing. It has bled an awful lot and I can definatly feel it, but it is not too uncomfortable to sleep on and it is easy to clean – a cup of salt water (boiled and left to cool slightly) and using a cotton bud, wipe the entrances to the piercing clean of blood and other bodily fluids and then what I do is fill an egg cup with moderately warm water and cup my ear into it for 2 – 3 minutes. This helps loosen and remove unwanted materials from the piercing.
I am very happy with my piercing even though it was slightly uncomfortable at first and is very hard to clean.
It was pierced using a plastic bar and titanium balls because in a week Star will cut the bar down. The bar was longer than needed to allow for swelling, which is certainly needed!
If you are thinking of getting this piercing, the transvertical lobe piercing, think twice.
It's a complicated piercing and is definatly NOT pain-free. It looks good but in order for it to stay like that you must be prepared for the aftercare.
Good luck with your piercings and make sure the piercist you use is qualified and trustworthy especially with a complex piercing such as this one.
