I got my industrial pierced about a year ago. At that time I only had my normal navel, my cartilage and my lobes done. Nothing to complex. I had decided to get my industrial done with a friend because she was (and still is) way into piercings and she wanted something new and original that nobody had so we decided to get our industrials done. We talked about getting them done at the beginning on February and less than a week later we had appointments to get pierced.

I was so nervous, but I knew I had to go through with it because after all I did to persuade my mom to let me get it done was not going to go to waste! Plus, my friend had already booked us appointments to go and I knew I would look stupid if I backed out.
The day of the piercing at school I was a wreck. I decided to tell a lot of people at school about what I was getting done after so I wouldn't chicken out. My appointment was at 3.30 after school and my step dad took me down to the piercing place where I planned to meet my friend. She and her mom were already there, filling out the "forms". I was shaking as I was basically signing my life away. After a few more dreaded moments of waiting my friend and I were taken in to the piercing place. The place we went to is super nice and they are very clean and I highly recommend it to anyone in the Abbotsford area. The piercer talked to us a bit before and told us a bit about herself and after all that, she asked us which one wanted to go first. I told my friend to go first, just so I could watch how it was done. In less than 10 minutes my friend was done, she said that it hurt and she heard a cracking noise as the needle went through the cartilage, so it made me nervous, but I knew I had to go through with it.
I sat in the chair and waited anxiously and she dotted the holes in my ear. She told me to check them out and see if I liked them, I nodded and told her I liked them without even really looking at it, I just wanted it to be over. I heard the top was supposed to hurt the most, so when she said she was starting with the top I got nervous, but she told me to take a few breaths and shed pierce. Well, the top hole did not hurt at all, to my surprise; it really was only a pinch. Then she did the bottom hole. The bottom hole hurt a hell of a lot more than the top. But still the pain was bearable. Unlike my friend I didn't hear any breakage of the cartilage because the piercer said that I don't have as much cartilage as she does in her ear, so it depends on you a lot of the time. As she put the bar through, that was probably the most painful, but after she was done and I looked in the mirror I fell in love with it right away. It was bright red, but it was so worth it. The piercer lady explained all the aftercare to us and she even gave us suckers. It was great. She also broke the needles in half and threw them in the garbage in front of us to show us that she's very clean. I loved that. Oh and my piercing didn't even bleed at all during the piercing process. It was grand.
Well, it's been over a year now and I love my industrial. Its so easy to take in and out and all that. I love the way people look at it and are amazed with the fact of a bar going in and out of your ear. I do advise anyone who is getting it done to clean it all the time because I rarely cleaned it and it got infected for a while, it formed one of those ugly red bumps on it, but that eventually faded and it became an image of beauty. The first few nights of having my industrial done, it bled as I slept because I would hit it so I ended up resting it against a towel. Since I got it done more and more people have gotten it as well, making it less original so the next thing I'm going to get is... a surface bar. Happy piercing!
