This is the story of how I came about my awesome snug. Well as usual,I was browsing through BMEzines pictures. I wanted to get a new and unique piercing this summer. It will be my 8th body piercing. Well, I came across the snug pictures and thought to my self,"Wow, thats what I want!". So I went on a read experiences and risks of getting this piercing. After thinking of it, I said lets go.

I asked her if she wanted to, to come with me to set up an appointment while I get my snug pierced. She said ok because shes never seen one of those and would like to see it. Well, we go to lunch and I get something to eat,I get lightheaded easily when on an empty stomache. I call upto Screamin Mimi's and ask if the piercer is there. I talk to him for a few minutes while asking if he could do it. He told me yeah and it would be $30 dollars even. Pretty good for the quality of service that this shop provides. I tell him to set up cause I'm on my way.
We get there and stand outside the shop for me to get air before we get in there. I go up to the counter and pay him. "Allen, you ready for a new piercing?",Brandon asked me. I shook my head yes and playfuly shoved him inside to get it done with. I picked out a curved barbell because he advised me that with a ring, swelling could help rejection and its easier to get caught on my shirt. I sit there while he puts on a pair of gloves and a mouth cover before he cleans my ear. He wipes it down with this iodine looking stuff and throws it away. He changes gloves again and measures my ear to see where it lays at. He marks it and gets it perfect on the dot. Here comes the fun part!
He puts the clamps on my ear, which I think is the most uncomfortable part. I was talking to my friend as I feel this hot,sharp burning sensation shoot through my ear. It was weird, it felt like the needle was slowly going in my ear inch by inch, but in reality in went in as soon as he pushed it. He tells me the worst part is over. I dont remember hearing the infamous crunch noise,but my friend said it was pretty nasty sounding. Well, he puts in the barbell,which was the worst feeling I've ever had. As he was pushing the needle out of my ear, the tip grazed the outside of my ear just a tad. He said its ok and its only a minor cut and he holds a napkin over it applying pressure. I get up and look at my brand new piercing and fall in love. I love how it looks and how it feels.
We go over the cleaning instructions and so forth, normal routine instructions, he told me to clean it 3 times a day with sea salt water and to atleast soak it 10 mins a day in hot sea salt water. I go home and take some Ibuprofen to help the swelling and pain. It wasnt that it hurt, but it was throbbing. I went around showing everyone I knew that I got it. My friends were like..."Oh mah gah Allen! You got it!" Everyone wanted to touch it also, which to me even with a healed piercing, is a dont.
My after experience. It's takin me a while to get used to. The first night sleeping was hell, I kept rolling on over it and wakin up like the devil poked my ass with a hot pitchfork. I woke up and took my shirt off and it got caught on my ear, brought me to my knees in pain. I went into the bathroom to check it out, major crusties and still poofy and swollen, but its expected. I soak it and clean it with q-tips and hot sea salt water. Im also prone to hitting it against the phone while I'm talking on it. After the first few days, its been really sore and throbs from time to time. I think that if a person is looking into getting this piercing they should go on woith it. Besides the first few days of healing and soreness, it will be worth it. It's not as bad as I've heard other people saying, but I have a tolerance for pain and it didnt bother me as much as I thought it would.
