I had been thinking about the pros and cons of scalpelling compared to stretching for a while, and not only do big lobes turn me on, the thought of "going under the knife" excited me. I had my ears pierced with a gun when I was 8 years old, and since then, they have been the same old holes (boring and small)

Now, I know that there are some people that call scalpelling cheating which kind of urks me, because why should you judge somebody else's actions of what they are doing to their own body. How is it cheating, anyway? If somebody knows they want bigger gauge lobes, then I think scalpelling is a dandy idea. Comparing stretching to scalpelling is stupid; it all depends on the individuals wants, and decisions. I also understand that big sexy lobes can be accomplished through stretching, but not all of us are patient, and I'm sure I¡¦m not the only one who's gotten giddy over the thought of a blade penetrating our ear lobes :)

So before the actual procedure, I had talked to my regular piercer about the procedure, and what size we could go to, and what not, and It was decided that 1/2" would be a nice size to start out at.

So one sunny Friday afternoon, me and a couple of blood-thriving friends headed down to the shop; ready and willing. We had to wait around for a while since there were people ahead of us, which was ok, because the more we sat there and chatted/ate jam, the less nervous I became.

After all that waiting, and jam eating it was finally my turn. We looked through the all jewelry that was in, and although there were some 1/2" Pyrex plugs in, I went with the 7/16" tunnels (since I didn't really like the plugs). Ok, so 7/16", no big deal! It was still a nice jump from 18g.

My piercer was so kind as to let my friends come in and watch, so they grabbed chairs, and sat in the corner, waiting with the camera to snap some blood bath pictures.

So out came all the equipment, gosh those scalpels were intimidating. He washed his hands a few time after/during getting all this set up, and took out his handy dandy marking pen. It took a while for all the marking since we weren't just cutting a slit, but cutting out a chunk. But when it was done, I looked in the mirror, and was ok with the marks that were made.

So here we go: My ears were going to be frozen before hand (not at my request) but because I was told it'd help with some of the bleeding and obviously numb some of the pain. The syringes were filled up, and ready to go: Left ear first. EEK...it was a weird feeling, a little pokey and a little pulley feeling this liquid swished into your ear. So both ears were done, and while waiting for the anesthetic to kick in a bit more, my piercer washed up his hands more and strapped on his gloves. Starting with the left ear, he had arranged the clamps, gotten out his scalpel and proceeded to slice. I had been holding a paper towel just under my ear incase of dripping blood, but there wasn't much! It was odd (and must have looked off) with me just sitting there with a knife to my ear, and a smile on my face. I didn't really FEEL the scalpel cutting my ear, but I could tell without looking that he was doing what he was doing, it was weird. After the chunk had been completely taken out, there was some blood, a few drips on the paper towel, and all on my ear, but I wasn't soaked down to my boobs in blood (Like I've seen in some of Bme's scalpelling pictures)! So the ear chunk was out, the jewelry was put in, and we were on to ear 2. And yup, you guess it, ear 2 was just the same as the first, except a little more bloody. Oh yes, all while this was happening, my two friends were looking quite amazed, and they took a few pictures (which I¡¦m sorry to inform you all, the pictures didn¡¦t really turn out, maybe one did ƒ¼). Not as much blood as they hoped, but they were happy too!

After all the slicing and dicing was done, My ears were cleaned off and I took a look in the mirror. They were divine. My ears were sex!

The aftercare was gone over, I paid, stayed for some chitchat, got wiped op once again and we were on our way. In the car, the whole way home, I couldn't help but admire my new ears (or should I say, lack of ear) the whole way home.

Well, when I got home my mom was very disgusted, to say the least. She was pissed. Not that I really cared about that, but I thought it was lame just HOW hissy she was. But she's over it now (just as I knew she'd eventually get over it).

It's been just over 3 weeks since I've gotten it done, and they're healing really well. Of course, the first few days were a bit bloody, but they're looking great. I started taking my tunnels out to clean after about 2 weeks which really really helped the way the looked and felt. I've been cleaning them with anti-bacterial soap and Bactine that has worked wonders. I also had a little bruising from where the injection points were, but those have gone away. I can't wait till my ears heal so I can scalpel them a bit more. I'll have to write another experience story when that happens!

So...all in all, my ear scalpelling experience was really great! I'm glad I did it, and to those kiddies who are debating weather to cut or not, I'd say do it! It's obviously not that bad if I¡¦m going to do it again!
