I have always been a big wimp when it comes to needles and blood but after my friend got a vertical tragus piercing, I really started toying with the idea of getting a piercing myself. Obviously I didn't want to get the exact same as her so together we looked through piercing magazines for ideas. That's when I first saw the daith piercing and just thought it was really cool looking and I haven't seen any people with it before!

Now that I had decided on this piercing I phoned the studio for an appointment. The girl I spoke was friendly and said I could get that piercing done there. I was really excited and we (my friend came with me for support!) drove down near the studio and parked the car. I went to the nearest bank machine to get more money just to make sure I would have enough.

We found the place in no time at all and went inside and waited for the piercer to ask me to go in. This was my first time in this studio and I was impressed. It quite big and I noticed that it was very clean and the staff were busy and friendly-looking. We were the only people waiting so I figured it wouldn't be long until I was going to get it done.

After a short while, the piercer greeted me and I asked if my friend could come in with me but unfortunately the answer was no. So I bravely went in to the piercing room and sat down with the piercer on my own! He told me about how he was going to do the procedure, how to look after of it, and did I have any questions. Surprisingly, I didn't feel nervous at all! The piercer put me at ease with his knowledge of piercings. He also gave me an aftercare regimen leaflet that had detailed step-by-step instructions on taking care of it, which I was expecting to get after he told me how to look after it. (I thought it was sweet of him).

He brought in jewellery for me to choose from and I showed him some pictures I had from the piercing magazine I saw the daith in so he knew how I wanted it to look .I choose the 16ga purple titanium ring because purple is my favourite colour (and it's such a nice shade of purple too) and he recommended the 16ga to me. I agreed that it would be the right size for my ear.

When he started the procedure I began feeling a little nervous but he was nice I trusted that he'd do a good job. The needle went in with a hard shove and it hurt a little, but not as much as I thought it was going to be seeing as the cartilage in that area is rather thick. For me the pressure was the worst ( I hate that sensation) but it wasn't to last for long. Once that was done he put the jewellery in, which was more awkward and slightly more painful than before. It seemed to take forever as he fiddled with it. I was a bit worried he was going to rip my ear off!

However, the end result was amazing! I was surprised that there was only a little blood throughout the whole process. When I looked in the mirror and saw it I was in love! It's just how I imagined it would look. It was more than perfect!

So when I came out of the piercing room my friend really like the piercing (so much so I think she will get a daith now!) She took some pictures with her camera of it, which hasn't turned out very good so I'm going to take more soon with my own camera. I paid for the Daith and gave the piercer a tip, too. ( I wish I could remember his name) He said i could phone again if I needed anything or felt worried about anything I could come in he would take a look at it. I said I was really pleased and would probably come back for another one! I just don't know what other piercing could outshine the daith.

I've had it done for about eight days now and it feels good. It was a little bit sore and itchy during the first couple of hours, but nothing I couldn't handle! Plus that night I could easily sleep on that ear without any pain felt. I'm not even aware that I've got the piercing unless of course someone points it out! (and I have had lots of compliments already!)

If anyone is thinking about getting a piercing, I highly recommend the daith. It looks so hot!! Get it done!! Well worth it!
