When I was 15 years old, I begged my mom and dad to let me get my navel pierced. After WEEKS and WEEKS or begging and pleading my case to them, they let me get it on my birthday. They told me ok, but no more piercings until I was 18. (I had had 3 lobes gunned into my ears.). I said fine, and was completley content with my navel ring and 3 studs in my ears.

Then a few months later, I saw my first rook piercing. I looked up pictures of it everywhere and read experiences but, I knew not to ask since the answer would be no. My parents were really serious about even getting my navel done. They are kind of strict and religious, but so am I, I go to church every Sunday. So, I had forgotten about it until a few days ago when my friend got her nose pierced and another was talking about getting her navel. Since I am only 2 months away from being 18, I asked my mom telling her that no matter what I would do it in 2 months anyways, and she said OK. My dad also did't care, because he knew I would get it anyways in 2 months, and he knew it was better than a facial piercing, (He hates those, but so do I so its ok.) They also made me promise that this would be it, which it so is.

Well today at 3:30 we set out for Steel Addictions, the same place my navel was done at, and my friends nose. It is a really really reputable place, and is clean and they are so friendly. They answered all of my questions and what not.

We get there and fill out the paper work and I am explained the aftercare and what not and I start to freak out! But, I paid my $37.50, and that was that. I am so scared of the pain and had been all day, I had not even had my top cartialge pierced or anything!

I go in the back with my mom, and I freak out. He tells me to lay with my feet a certain way, and I do the opposite, then once I got the right way then, He tells me lay down on my back and I of course flop over onto my stomach. My mom laughs at me because I was doing all of the opposites, but I was so nervous about the pain. So Rob starts cleaning my ear, and lines everything up. All while he is doing this he is talking to me, and changed his clothes about 3 times which defintally made me feel a little better. He shows me and my mom how everything came out of clean packages and is sterilized and new. Rob says that the pain is not very bad, more like a lot of pressure, and that it is a very simple and quick process.

He tells me to take a breath in, and then on the exhale, he will do it. Well I was expecting to breath in a few times, so I only took a small breath in the first time and then on the exhale he did it, which i did not expect it at all. I defintally felt it, but was expecting way worse. It was a small pinch and some pressure. Pretty soon he had the bead snapped into the 16 G ring and I was good to go. My mom said that my toes kinda curled and I made a little face, but it was not bad at all. Afterwards, Rob had me get up and look at it and I loved it, he then asked my mom how it looked and even my mom said that she had to admit it was cute.

Now, a few hours later, it is a little sore, but nothing too bad. I'm keeping my hair away from it, and am not touching it at all, but I look at it all the time. I'm scared it will hurt to turn it, but I was also terrified that it would hurt getting done. In the morning I will wash it and turn it, and then later on soak it in my sea salts. So if you want it, get it, and go in expecting really bad pain and then it won't be so bad! I didnt think it was bad and I suck at pain, I'd only had 3 lobes gunned and my navel (I passed out donating blood!) I won't lie and say it dosent hurt at all, because it does, but it is not bad at all. I got my right Rook done because I do everyting with my left, so hopefully I will not roll over on it.

But go ahead and do it, It's a pretty original piercing that isn't huge or noticeable, just perfect. It looks really cute.
