Ok, I've been waiting to get my ears pierced again for a long time. I had only gotten my lobes pierced once and that was six years ago. I've been itching to go since last summer which is when I struck the deal with my mom that if I got on A honor role I'd be able to get them pierced. I think she thought I wasn't capable of pulling it off. So, after getting my award she decided to take me.

Now here's the deal with Almost Famous. Not only do you get an awesomely well-done piercing (Jeff kicks some major ass) but there's always and added little bonus. Such as it's buy one get one free piercings (plus the cost of jewelry if you don't bring your own) on Monday's and Tuesday's. Then on the weekends (I do believe) you get any non-2 disc cd free. Not to mention Jeff's just the coolest guy you could ever meet. But now back to the story...

Now originally I wanted to get four piercings done that day. I wanted to get a snug on each ear then my tragus on each ear. My mom didn't think I could "take the pain" so she only let me get two. (I actually love the feeling of a piercing and can't wait to get more!) After hearing that I kind of freaked out because, I didn't know what I was going to get. So that night I went and asked everyone what I should get. My friend Beth thought it'd be cute to get my rook and tragus pierced. See I was originally was going to get them done, but, I forgot my ID (I didn't know that you needed one even with an adult), so I had to wait till tomorrow. Beth was totally right and that night I decided to take a look at how the finished product would turn out. So of course, I logged on to good ole BME here, took a look, and read the stories. I fell in love with both of them right then and there.

So the next day school seemed to trudge by second by second. Seemed like an eternity. Finally, school was out and it was time for me to get pierced. So I grabbed Rani and off her, my mom and I went. When we got there, Jeff recognized me right away. He said it'd be a few minutes and that we were free to look around while we waited. The whole time we were waiting my adrenaline just kept pumping faster and faster. By the time we were called back, I felt like I had just drunken all the coffee from the Moxie Java from across the hall.

Jeff calmed me down pretty easily without knowing it. Ok, when I first walked into the piercing room it was very very clean. Also, there was some really good heavy metal blasting from his Hello Kitty boom box. (Yes indeed Hello Kitty...) He then told me exactly what he was going to do before he started. That was a huge help. He told me that he was first going to clean my ear, and then he'd put the cork in place, stick the needle through and put in my hoop. Just like he said, he first cleaned up my ear. Then he put the cork in my ear. It felt really awkward, kind of, like my ear was way bigger than the other. The he told me to take a deep breath in and exhale. As I exhaled, he quickly put the needle through. It stung a little initially but I thought it was going to hurt way worse. It actually was more uncomfortable getting the jewelry through. Then he just screwed on the little bead and ta da! Just like that, I was done with my rook piercing. Then it was time for my tragus pi ercing (but that's another story)

So far (it's been a week and a day), my rook has been healing really really well. Jeff gave me very simple instructions for cleaning and such. He told me to wash it with antibacterial soap three times a day. He also recommended that it be scent free (duh) so that it wouldn't get irritated. Then he told me after every cleaning to do a non-iodide sea salt soak. So basically, what I do is mix a 1/4 of a teaspoon of the sea salt and put it in 8 ounces of water. Heat that up so it's warm in the microwave and soak my piercing in the solution for 5-10 minutes. I've found that the sea salt soaks feel really good on my ears.

I seriously recommend this piercing to anyone. I think it's absolutely beautiful and is one of the more livable piercings. I actually think piercing my lobes hurt more. If anyone has any questions or comments you can just email me or talk to me over AIM. My screen name's LaNoirPapillion. Happy piercing!.
