Well...it all started this morning..well I should say about 3 months ago. I had decided that I wanted another piercing to add to the two that I have currently (now 3) which were my belly button, my septum and of course my ear lobes which I don't think count. I have been going to this tattoo shop for about 2 months now to watch my boyfriend and about five other friends get tattoos since they all turned 18. Me, not being 18 decided I needed another piercing. I looked all over BME and a few other sites to see what I liked, and what I haven't seen on too many people.

Finally...I found the perfect one. It was the Daith..it was cute and feminine and my dad would agree with it, being the yuppy conservative he is(he hates my septum, mom got it for me) I was really excited. I loved the thrill of my first two piercings and the sooner I could get my daith done the better. So... for my birthday I asked for the piercing. Dad said yes. Now all we had to do was go over to the place to get it done. By this time I had memorized the stores hours and knew they were open from 11-8. We went around 6:30 and the guy (Matt) wasn't there. I was mad. I figured if he said he would be there he would. So about two days later my dad gave my boyfriend the money to take me to get it done, not thinking I need a parent to sign the papers. So we ditched school and went over to Washington (I live in Oregon).

Once we got there we realized we were out of luck...but...my boyfriends mom is in beauty school and it's right down the street from the shop. So I got a manicure and we talked her into taking me down to the shop to sign as my mom. We said a few things that were'nt very mother daughter like, she told me she had her nipple pierced before and I was totally surprised. Im sure the guy knew she was'nt my mom.She had been in there with my boyfriend only the day before and she just happens to have light hair and green eyes and i have brownish-reddish hair and dark eyes, and a major height difference. To put it simply we look nothing alike..nothing. But I don't think he really cared after all it was a quick $32.

After we signed papers and I had enough time to become nervous. We were in the back room about to pierce me ear, I thought it would be just me and my boyfriends mom, but my boyfriend, his younger brother, one of my best friends and three of the people at the shop were in there when I was having it done. I was scared as all hell and knew I was gonna look like a little sissy lala in front of what at that time seemed like the entire world. Now remember..I told Matt I wanted my Daith done. So I sat there as he cleaned everything..and watching him do MANY tattoos I thought he would be an equally good piercer. I was so very wrong. When getting pierced I like to be told what's going on and shown where he is marking the holes. He didn't even show me where he was gonna pierce...before I could ask him to see the marks he had the clamp on and was telling me to breath in. Too late now right? RIGHT.

It felt like he was piercing it a bit too high up to be my Daith..the pain was very tolerable surprisingly (I thought it would hurt like hell!) and not sharp, but a very dull pain. Not nearly as bad as my septum..and I didn't even hear the cartilage crunch that most people talk about. I was very happy until I looked in the mirror.

Instead of piercing my Daith like I had asked him to, he pierced my Rook instead. I was beyond anger at that point! I didn't know if I had told him the wrong thing so I didn't want to say anything and feel like a dumbass. I thanked him gave him an $8 tip ( I know im cheap, but he didn't even deserve the tip dammit!!)

So here I am now. It's sometime past midnight and I just had to make sure I told him the right thing and its not all in my head. So I got on to this site and looked up Rook..and thats what I have..That's really messed up if you ask me..I'm not sure if he did it because he doesn't know what the hell a Daith is or if he just thought it would look better and did this instead. I wish I could say I will never go to him again..but now that I have one rook I might as well get the other done and $32 is a pretty good price. Although for future refrence to everyone make sure to get a good piercer who will walk you throught the procedure and at least show where he is gonna pierce. I ended up with a piercing I intended getting in the future but knowing I wasted $32 on the piercing I didnt pay for was in the end a little irritating.....HAPPY PIERCINGS
