Well, this wasn't my first piercing. And neither will it be my last. But it's my favourite over even my tongue!

Location Derby I had been online a lot before I got it done, reading through and looking at experiences, and decided it was right for me, it was cute, and not too noticeable, and I wouldn't have to take it out for work or anything.
Anyway, one weekend, I was out in Nottingham celebrating with my friend at the fact we'd done a lot better than we'd thought with our GCSE's, when I walked past a piercing shop, and it suddenly reminded me of this pierce I loved so much. I just new I had to have it done. Now, my parents aren't strict, but I knew if I got it done without asking at least, my dad would go mental. So I thought (it was a bit sly of me) if I remind him he said I could have another piercing after my exams, and give him an ultimatum, then most likely he'd let me have the one I wanted! He'd said he didn't mind my tongue because unless I blobbed my tongue out you could barely see it, and I know he hates most facial, obvious piercings. So I rang him as I was waiting for the bus back home, and said "dad, you know how you said I could have another piercing if I got good grades?" and he replied, with a sigh "yes?" "well, I was thinking. I would really love either my tragus or my labret pierced!" to which he replied "Becki, you know I don't do these technical terms you use, speak in English!" so I told him where both was, and he umm'd and ahhh'd, and eventually said, "I'll ring you back".
A few hours passed and I still hadn't heard anything, so I was starting to feel a little disappointed that my plan hadn't worked. As I'm sure you can imagine! But then just as I'd invited a load of friends over for that night, he rang me back and said "as long as you ONLY have your ear one done, and NOT the other one, and as long as you get it done before we get home, then yes, you can have it done!" You would not have believed the excitement!
Anyway, the following Wednesday, I went to my local piercist, and asked him if he'd got enough time to do it, or if I'd have to make an appointment and come back in a few days. To which he replied, come on! You know what its like round here! Go get some food if you've not eaten and come back in half an hour! So I did, and I came back, kind of, nervous would be a good word, though I don't think I believed I was getting it done, and I knew it would be the most painful.
So he sat me down on the leather sofa, and while I filled in the form, he told me how to look after it and what I should expect. He said he'd rather tell me before rather than after, as he's found most of his clients are too intrigued and shocked to listen after he's done it!
He told me the usual, sea salt soaks, try not to touch it much as much as I want to. Don't let others touch it. You know!
So then, the dreaded bit, the bit where you have to get up and walk to the chair! Or the bed in this case.
He took me in (with a guy I fancied at the time aswell – he'd been pretty quiet since we walked back in the 2nd time!) and told me to lay on the table, and asked which one I wanted piercing, (right) and told me to relax, and he cleaned my ear, and marked it, then asking me to sit back up and check in the mirror at the end of the bed. It was perfect first time, right in the middle, and not too far in or close to the edge. He said that I had a nice short bit quite round tragus area which would make the piercing look even better, and reasonably easy to pierce.
He told me to lay back down, and concentrate on my breathing, obviously this is while he prepared himself, it seemed to go really fast. (I'd told the guy I was with pre-pierce to watch him as he did it, not because I didn't trust him, just because I'm paranoid of not getting sterile equipment).
Anyway, the pierce. He clamped my ear and told me to relax my head and roll it to my left side and told me just to concentrate on my deep breathing. After about 4 breaths in and out, he pierced. Im not going to lie, it fucking hurt! Nothing unbearable, but the sharp pain, especially as he exited the other side hurt a lot! I even heard a 'pop'! Then that bit was done. I was quite amazed, even though for a second it really hurt, it was just a strange tingling/pressure kind of sensation! I sat up and looked in the mirror, to see this huge plastic rod through my ear, basically. At this point my friend moved to the other side of the room and sat himself down! Hehe!
Now the BCR, that DID fucking hurt. It felt like he was trying to pull my ear inside out! Although it was over quick, at the time it didn't feel like it. Then he said "all done, you can scream now if you want!", I just smiled. I looked in the mirror, I loved it so much I almost got my other one done too, and I think if I'd had the money I would have too!
I paid him and he told me if I wanted to because he wasn't busy that I could sit and relax for a while, just in case I got nauseous, but I never have felt any of the symptoms a lot of you people often mention, so I told him I was OK and he said if I had any problems to come back.
When I got outside, even in August the air got round it and it stung for about an hour! It also bled a little, not enough to require a tissue or anything. Also when I got home and looked properly, it looked like it had split the cartlidge very slightly above the piercing, which I wasn't too worried about, as it was tiny, and even if it did decide to scar it wouldn't be noticeable.
For the next few days I was careful of everything! Not sleeping on my right side, or letting anyone touch it, and cleaning it AT LEAST twice a day! It did get quite crusty at times, but luckily because it was just after id left school I didn't have to try and clean it at school ever.
And I'm not going to lie. It did get a minor infection at one point. It wouldn't move round in the hole, and it had a small red lump on the top (both inside and outside) of the hole. This hurt to touch it, and I did worry it was going to reject or it was that scarring you sometimes get. But luckily I just cleaned it regularly and didn't die my hair (which at the time I was famous for!) so as not to upset it. And actually it healed really quite quickly! Now its my favourite ever piercing and so pretty, although next week (this is nearly two years on) I have to go back and have my ball put back in, as its popped out very slightly and I don't want to loose it!
In the near future after my tattoo, I'm contemplating getting my daith pierced in my other ear!
But for any of you thinking about getting this pierced DO IT! Its really not all that bad and its soo cute!
