After seeing someone with an outer daith piercing I decided to check it out on bme, read some experiences and look at some pictures. After finding out a bit more about the piercing I decided to call into otherside and ask how much it was and if it was sore and all the other stupid questions you ask before you get a piercing. The girl on reception showed me her own ear and told me that it was an inner daith she had done and that it was a far better one to have done as it is right in your ear so you have less chance of irritating it when you sleep on it. She said that the majority of peoples outer daiths end up migrating. She did tell me that I feel the nip with the inner daith but on the other hand I didn't want it to grow out.

I went into town shopping with my friend the day after boxing day and I decided that I had wanted this piercing for long enough and it was time I just went for it. I filled in the form and handed over my money (only £15 which I think would be about $30).

I had to wait a good 20 minutes, otherside is usually busy but as everyone was in to spend their Christmas it was even more hectic than usual. I hate the wait, this is the time you really start to lose your bottle!

Finally, Stuart called me. Unfortunately my friend wasn't able to come in so I had to go on my own! I sat on the edge of the bed while he got ready, then I was asked to tilt my head over to the right hand side (as I was getting pierced on the left ear) he cleaned my ear. Then he told me he was going to put his finger in my ear while he sprayed the anaesthetic on the area (if it gets into your eardrum it is dangerous apparently). That was fine but now came the worst bit,the actual piercing!

I am not sure if the clamp was used on the piercing. I don't think it was,im pretty sure he just did it freehand. He told me he was about to do it and that I was going to feel a sharp nip and let me tell you, I did! It really really really really hurt it was a big sharp nip, because it was cartlidge it seemed to take ages to go through and I just couldn't wait for it to be over. I have got my tongue, lip, clit hood, tragus etc. pierced and I honestly have to say that this baby hurt the most!

He put the jewellery in (the usual silver cbr). After I was done I had to sit for a while. I was bleeding quite a lot so stuart had to put pressure on it for a while.

After this I was able to go and get on with my shopping which was harder than I thought. The pain was unbelievable, I couldn't turn my head at all and the blood was dripping down and coming out at the bottom of my ear. People were giving me really weird looks and were saying "oh my god, she has her ear pierced right inside" and "yuck, her ear is bleeding".

Finally I got off the bus and I was home. I live with my grandmother and I had to go and tell her. She absolutely hated it and made it quite clear! I find the best way to deal with her is to not tell her im thinking of a new piercing and just go ahead and get it done. I tell her after I get it done then her opinion doesn't matter cos it is too late!

I cleaned all the blood off my ear which really hurt and it didn't stop hurting for about 2 weeks! Sleeping that night was a bit of a nightmare, I kept rolling over onto my ear no matter how hard I tried not too which made it more painful! I didn't have anymore bleeding though, not even a drop.

Cleaning this piercing is quite difficult as it is so far inside my ear. I find the best way is with cotton buds using 2 mirrors. A large one in front of you and a smaller one held at the side then you can get a good of the piercing rather than cleaning it when you cant see it!

It is now 5 months since I got the piercing done and I don't regret the piercing at all, but, I will just say that I would not go through the pain again! I love it now and hardly anyone has it done which is really good. People still look at it funnyand ask me about but I don't mind.

The one thing I will say is that you really need to clean it properly, I haven't been and I am still getting lymph 5 months on!

I know I have made this piercing sound really bad but this is just my experience, I am not very good with pain so that probably doesn't help!
