This is my experience with a rook piercing. I love my rook and show it off to people all the time whenever I get the chance to. I did it on a whim and though that my ears needed a new piece of metal to get closer to the finish of my ear project. Only a helix, another regular cartilage and a tragus and I am good to go. Anyways, back to my rook, I did it because I needed a new piercing. Since I was not "allowed" to get any piercings when I was with my ex-boyfriend (which is one of the reason's he is my ex now) I decided to defy the bastard and do what I wanted to do for a change. So I dug out my piercer's number and give her a call. (By the way, this friend was a professional piercer whom I got a hold of from another good friend of mine. She's not just some moderately trusted friend whom I could get an infection more than 100 different ways from.) I called my friend up and asked her when she was free to do me. So I made an appointment (in a very loose meaning) and wen t to her place. So we talked for a while, found out what was new with each other and then she lead me down into her newly finished basement, which I had never seen before.
At A Glance Author Morgen Contact Morgen@bme.anon When Three months ago Artist My wonderful professional personal friend Studio Her basement Location Somewhere underground I ask her the normal routine questions that anyone should ask about any piercing their getting. Stuff like how long will it take to heal. How do I clean it? How long until I can take this jewelry out and put in something else. You know, routine. (Being an apprentice I should know, but have never seen one done. So it was good to ask.) Then I saw her get out all of her materials and set everything up. Then proceeds to do what she is best at.
Now little pain like piercing's do not bother me in the least bit. So she sterilized the jewelry, the needle, and me and proceeded to pierce away. She did that fine in no time, but now comes the problem. Once she gets the needle in, she cannot get the ring in. She is pulling and tugging and after about 3 minutes she just wants to get something in there before it closes up. Now in these three minutes she is apologizing on how sorry she is to be putting me in so much pain. Well, just before she pierced me I told her I was immune to little pain like piercing pains. Which if that qualifies me for being a masochist then so be it. And as she's doing all of this I am just staring at her enormous book collection. So naturally I pick out the Satanist and witchcraft books to look at (while still in the book case) to focus on something other than the commotion going on in my ear at the moment. Now my head is tilted at the same time so it makes it a whole lot easier to read th e titles of the books. (Oh, by the way, this is in my right ear. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier.) So she puts in a ridiculously looking big ring that was way too big for my ear. She even laughed when she say the finished project and decided to give me a break.
So she proceeds to clean my up and I go look at it in the mirror. I bust out laughing because this damn thing is so huge it takes up all the free space in my ear like where a conch would go. So I sit back down and after resting my ear for a few minutes of the tugging, I tell her to try to put the small one in again, and not to stop till she gets it in. Finally, she gets it in with no problem this time and it looks beautiful. So she cleans up and we talk some more about how our lives are. I pay her what I owe her (which wasn't much considering about four years back I brought about twenty people to her which in turn made her a lot of money. So from then on she decided to give me any piercing I wanted for ten bucks) Awesome, isn't it? Anyways, so then I get to take home that other big ring which was stuck in my ear for a brief three minutes. Then she also gave me a two-inch barbell, which I will use for someone's industrial soon. All together it ended up being a total of fifteen dollars. So thanked her, told her I would definitely call her soon for more holes in my body, and went on my way. Once I left it did not hurt the rest of the day, or the rest of the week for that matter. All in all it was a good day, I got my money's worth, and made some more business for my friend.
