Well... back about 4 years ago I had my ears gunned and I stretched them to a 14 gauge. Then one day those many years back I ended up having to take out the 14 gauge barbell that was in my ear because it busted, one of the ends that is, well at the time I really did not have the money and kind of more or less forgot about my lobes and they sealed shut. Well now that I have got a good paying job and have added other piercings to my list of things I have had done, I decided I was gonna get my lobes pierced again.

Well first off I called up the shop I usually go to, which I will leave un named, and they told me the largest I could get my lobes done in was a 10 gauge, but they did not have any jewelry in a 10 gauge, so that was out of the question, since I had none either. Then I called up to Tiger Lily Tattoo to see about there, and they were the same, largest was a 10 gauge also, but did not have any jewelry in that size. Well at this point I was getting a little hot because I really wanted to get my lobes redone.
So next thing I did was go and see one of my friends who has 4 gauge in his lobes and asked if he had any old 10 gauge rings i could have, he was wondering what in the hell I needed them for, and I told him I was gonna get my lobes pierced again with a 10 gauge but none of the shops in town had big enough jewelry, I could tell in his voice and his body that he thought I was nuts putting that big of a needle in my ear. He told me "man, that s**t is gonna hurt bro, you know you are crazy thats gonna hurt." Over and over every other word was "hurt" and I assured him it did not bother me, and he was like "well if you are gonna do it then I am coming with you to watch because I know that going to hurt." Well he went through his old jewelry to see if he had some old 10 gauge rings still and luckily he did.
Well by this time it was a little after 7pm and the shop just down the street closes at 7. Good thing my friend was really good friends with the piercer and tattooist there because the shop was still open and I got in. At first Nick looked at me like "ok?" and then checked to see if he had any 10 gauge needles left. He comes back out and shows me the needle, I guess to make sure thats what I really wanted shoved through my ear, and I said ok. Well he threw the jewelry in the auto clave to sterilize it, so we just sat around and jawed for awhile. Well after the 15 minutes of waiting, it was go time, I got in the chair, he marked me, and asked if I was ready, I went hell yea, my friend goes "man you are nuts" and I laughed and he told me again it was gonna hurt. Well Nick clamped my ear and like 5 seconds later he goes "ok, just gotta put the ball on" I was thinking to myself, that was it!?!? I did not feel nothing at all. He Clamped the other ear and goes are you rea dy again, and again, hell yea! clamps and 5 seconds later "just gotta put the ball on" and that was it. Did not feel nothing. Nick asked if I wanted to keep the needle, for keepsake or whatever, and I was like sure, why the hell not, i can show and tell people "hey this is what went through my ear." My friend just looks at me, and I go to him "well it did not hurt me" and laughed.
Well after about 5 to 10 minutes of bleeding like a stuck pig and soaking 2 towels in blood we were out of the shop and I was a very happy customer. After getting my lobes done there, I am actually more persuaded to go there now instead of my regular place, the job done was very quick, quicker than what I have ever seen and the turn out was awesome. I wonder back now to why I would have ever not kept my lobes pierced, but I am glad that they are pierced once again, and here to stay this time.
