I was bored as I usually am, when I was looking at one of my favourite sites BME. Now the problem with BME is all the pictures make me want more piercing's! And being only 15 at the time there was more chance of hell freezing over than me getting another piercing as I already had both tragus, all the way up my ear, nose, tongue and belly button x 2 pierced.

I'm always looking for something different, something that I haven't seen before and that no one else in school has. I came across the Anti tragus and rook. To pierce the rook looked kind of painful so I thought maybe some other time. After looking again and again at the anti tragus piercing I decided it was the one for me. I smiled nicely at my mother and as I expected I got a big smile back and a big fat NO. But I was going to get this piercing.

I ordered a green 1.2mm needle which cost me £1.95, which is a lot cheaper than £25 at my local piercing parlour and decided that if I was going to do another self piercing I was going to do it probably. When the needle came I just told my mother that it was for my friend (who is also a piercing fanatic) and she nodded her head and gave me that curious look. I went up to my bedroom and put my favourite song on full blast.

I sat at my computer desk and looked on BME at all the pictures of anti-tragus's and then I was ready to do it. I took it out of the packaging and just held it up to my ear. I started pushing it through and it was actually going smoothly with no pain. Then it came to the plastic bit on the needle that goes through to bring the jewellery through. There was no way that the plastic bit was going to go through. I pushed, chuffed and practically battered the needle but it would not budge. I took out the needle and removed the plastic bit

So I started again. And no stupid little me did wash the needle. It went back to the place where it was before so I was quite pleased not having to make another hole. Now there was the problem of getting it through the cartilage. So with my usual weakling self I just decided to keep a small pressure on the needle so it would go through slowly. WRONG! I was there just slightly pushing the needle in for half an hour and did it budge? No.

By this time I had lost my temper so I yanked the needle out slammed it on my computer desk and stared at it. In my mind I was saying 'now needle I don't like you and you don't like me so can we just get on with it' (that's the politer version). I left it for a while and looked again on BME to see if I could find a different piercing to do. But I still got drawn to the Anti-tragus. So again I picked up the needle.

Again it went write back into place where it was before. I stared directly into the mirror at my eyes and give on big push. Again the needle did not move. Again it did it and again the needle did not move. And buy this time I was pretty agitated and had really wound myself up about it. So I scrunched my eyes and let out an anger scream in my head and felt a little sharp pain in my ear. I thought ' great its trough' yeah right. I opened my eyes and it was through the cartilage but not the last layer of skin which is always a b*t*h and the most painful part.

So I started again with the gentle pushing. I was sitting there for about 15 min with the gentle pushing but I hadn't made any progress. So I started rubbing the top of the needle to help try and break the skin. I could feel the sharp top to the needle so I just picked around it at the skin to encourage it. Then it started to brake through slowly, which stung a lot. YAY! At last it was through after about an hour and a half of umming and arhing trying to get it through.

I was dancing around really happy with myself and then it struck my like me lightning. What was I going to put in it? All the time waiting for the needle to arrive I had forgotten to buy jewellery. I looked in my jewellery box and got out a normal silver earring. 'It will have to do' I slowly removed the needle, which felt really weird and when I got to the end it almost sounded like a little pop when it came out.

I didn't bleed much just a tiny drop, but I got my which hazel and wiped it over along with the earring, which isn't really that, hygienic. I pulled the ear back so I could see the top of the hole and gently started pushing the earring through it went through really easy so I let me easy back natural and noticed I hadn't put it through the hole I had made. Id put it through over the cartilage and I could feel it just under the skin. So I placed my ear back again and pulled the earring out.

I started putting the earring through again but this time I wiggled it about to make sure it was on cartilage. I pushed it through and it came the other side, I put my ear back into position and made sure it was not on the surface of the cartilage but through. It was perfect apart from the stupid earring this stupid girl used.

No body really noticed until about 4 weeks later when my aunt went 'when the hell did you get that done' in the middle of lego land!
