So since my last piercing in January I have wanted to get another interesting ear piercing. But because my work is sessional I was short on cash and I knew it would be a while. So back in February I went to go visit Joe (my piercer) because I had a CD for him and to ask him how much he would charge me to get my snug done. It was going to be a little more because I didn't have the proper jewelry for it and I would have to buy it from him this time. This is unusual because including my conch I now have 17 piercings all of which have had multiple pieces of jewelry in them at some point, so my collection has gotten out of control. Most the time I just have Joe go through my Pill Box O' Jewelry as he likes to call it and find something that has the proper fit. SO a month goes by and I have money to get my snug done but I was getting ready to go to Las Vegas and I knew that I was going to be riding roller coasters and I didn't want it to get bumped around because snugs are not orious for rejecting and kelloiding.

So after a few unexpected mishaps in Vegas I didn't come home with as much money as I figured I would. I remembered that I had fell in love with a picture of a double Daith that I saw and since I already had both my daith's pierced that I would just get them done again. So with money and my box O'jewelery in hand, my friend and I made the oh so familiar trip to Bolder Ink.

We walk in about 45min till closing only to find the familiar scene of Joe and the rest of the guys who aren't working with clients playing rummy in the waiting room. They all greeted me with the usually hugs. I showed the picture to Joe of the double Daith and he told me he wanted to practice it first because he had never done it and that we should make an appointment for Tuesday. Since I don't have a car I didn't want to do that because I didn't know if I could find a ride because its kinda far from where I live. I asked him to make sure there would be enough room on my Daith to make sure it would be worth the trip back. So after a few minutes of every one in the shop looking at my ear they decided there wasn't enough room. So then I told Joe I want something done today you pick. He got this devilish glee in his eye and told me that he thought a conch would look awesome.

So the guys finished up the game of rummy and went to go get set up. (Now I just want to state that had I been some stranger and not there friend they would have put the game on hold and Joe would have went right to work.)

So Joe went to the supply room to get his tools and called me back we had to change some jewelry and then he started prepping me for the piercing. He first swabbed down my ear to make sure it was nice and clean and then he marked my ear and had me check it out. I then told my friend Nicole "This is going to hurt like hell." I always go through this every time I get a piercing. I never say anything but I'm always positive its going to be really painful and then it doesn't hurt at all. Joe told me "Don't worry Dez this one isn't too bad are you ready?" I was like I guess so and he told me you know the deal slow breathes in and out and then there's the waiting game after he says that his hand is ready and in position I'm not really sure what he's waiting for. Then the next thing I know there's a quick sharp not to bad pain and he's putting a cork on the needle and getting the jewelry. Before he could turn around I was so relieved that I told him that the pain wasn't bad at all he just laughed and was like we go through this every time you think you would learn. So then he put the 14 gage CBR in and I paid him and when I went to tip him we got in the biggest fight because I had already gave him a CD that's nearly impossible to find and he said that was tip enough. So he chased me around the shop for a while trying to give back the money. Before I shoved it in his back pocket and insisted on him keeping it.

Now its been 3 days and its been surprisingly easy to take care of. I was really worried about sleeping on it. But I've mastered a sleeping technique that everyone should use when they get anything done on there ears. If you sleep without a pillow and make a V with your arm then your ear will go inside the V without touching anything else. Its been a little painful to rotate the jewelry resulting with my ear being very red for 15min after but other than that I forget I have it till I bump it when I'm putting my hair behind my ear. I have just been doing a Sea Salt Soak twice a day and everything seems to be going well.
