I love piercings, and my friends are starting to think I'm addicted, but anyway. I had been looking for a somewhat interesting piercing for my ear, so my mom would let me get it done. Then I saw the rook, I thought it was wicked cool. I didn't really take much time to think about it and to my surprise it didn't take much convincing for my mom to say yes. So the night before my friend stayed the night, and we talked about piercings. Then next day I was so excited, another piercing...another adrenaline rush. The time went by so slow, but as it got closer I started to get nervous. We went to the mall that day, and all I could think about was getting my rook pierced.
At A Glance Author Liz Contact ladyballa110@aol.com When A week ago Artist Jason Studio Lizard Lounge Ink Location Kissimmee, FL We got to Lizard Lounge Ink and Jason (so hot) came out, to give us the paper work and all that good stuff, my mom filled out the papers, and we signed them. At first I wasn't nervous until I smelled...well...the smell of the sterilizing junk they use, and for some reason that made me really nervous. So after all that was done I followed Jason to the back, and my friend came along to watch. I was mostly talking to my friend and not watching anything that was going on, but I had been there before so I knew it was safe. He got out all the tools and talked to me about the procedure. Next he cleaned my ear, and took out a flashlight to see if the vein in my ear was going to interfere with the piercing. He looked through and we were good to go. He marked the dots on my rook, and I went to check them in my mirror. It was a little to close to the inside, so I had him move it out towards my other cartilage piercing. They're very picky about touching it; I don't think they could let you know enough how important it is not to touch. They're very anal about it (ha...Ashley...that's gross)
After the marks would good, I sat down in the chair. He had me lean my head back all the way, and he was about to pierce it. I felt the needle on my ear, and after that I didn't really feel anything. All I could feel was a little bit of pressure, but other than that I didn't even know he did it. I think this piercing took the longest out of all of them. After the needle was through he cleaned my ear again and put a curved barbell through, it was a little uncomfortable because of the constant tugging on my ear. It's a very small area to work with so I could see why it would be hard to get the jewelry in. I could feel that the barbell was in and I couldn't wait to check it out.
I looked in the mirror, and the placement was perfect, I loved it so much. Jason came over to take another looked and said "God damn! I got that deep, and I mean that in the best way possible." My friend and I laughed because he was so excited. If I didn't trust him so much I might've been a little nervous that there was a chance he might not of done well. But o well, it was kick ass! After that he called in another guy to look at it, and also to check out the "awesome" vein I have going through my ear. With the flashlight, it made my ear like...see through, it was crazy. I think the guy was stoned because he continued to play with the flashlight attempting to see through my head, but it was all good because he was so entertaining.
It's only been a week, but so far so good. It's completely painless, I can sleep on it no problem, and because of the positioning it never really gets hit...unless your friend throws a rock at your head. I think as long as you keep it clean it should be fine, and I haven't touched it unless I'm cleaning it. It's definitely a little awkward to clean when I'm not in the shower because I have to put the dial soap on, and kind of hold my head under the sink to rinse it off. I'm very happy with my piercing, and I can't wait to go get more. I'll be going back to Jason for all my future piercings. If you're in Central Florida I highly recommend lizard lounge, it's very clean and the people there are really friendly. A rook is a great piercing and it's easy to take care of it, I think it will heal up very nicely. If you have any questions you can IM me on Ladyballa110.
Happy piercing!
