My one friend was talking about getting her conch done. She saw how mine was and just fell in love with it (and the spiral barbell). I told her that I'd go out with her to get it done. My mom agreed to take her out as long as she had her parents permission.

Her parents are pretty strict. It took lots of persuasion and sucking up for them to agree. After she finally convinced her parents, we went out the next day.

Her being a first timer, she was scared. Steve has done practically all of my piercings. The place is sterile and I haven't had any infections.

So my friend walked in and went to look at the jewelry. Steve came up and asked what I was getting done this time. I just laughed and said.. "Naw, not me this time". He asked my friend what she wanted. She told him that she wanted her conch done right like mine was. She picked the jewelry out and we all went back into the room. She sat down on the green chair and I could see in her eyes she was nervous. Steve set everything up and marked where she would be getting her new hole. He cleaned the conch up and got the needle. When it went in she made a face. I just sat there laughing.

My brother, who was also with, decided that he was going to get his bridge done. He got prepared in the chair and Steve took out a spike barbell. When he went to pierce him, the clamp slid, so he got a little brush burn from that. The needle was through and Steve went to put the jewelry in. Once it was through they realized it was just a little too small for his bridge. He had to take it out and quick try to put the bigger one in.

Of course the hole had to quick close up. So Steve got another needle out and proceeded to pierce him once more. This time the barbell fit and everything was fine besides his bridge was sore from the double piercing. It was a bit off centered at first, but it grew in fine.

After they were both done, Steve asked me what I was getting. I looked at him and thought for a second. Then I told him that I wanted something in my cartilage, but I didn't know what. He told me to sit down that he had the perfect idea for me.

I sat down in the little green chair wondering what was in store for me. He marked a spot on the rim of my cartilage. Well that was a mistake. I never told him that I had it pierced there and took it out because it got sore. Well, he then marked two dots on my rook. He then told me that he was going to do an industrial rook. He took the needle and first put it through the rim. That hurt so bad due to the scar tissue I had there. I knew the rook was going to hurt even worse. I grabbed the chair as that piercing pain set into my ear. It was throbbing. I mean don't get me wrong, it wasn't my most painful piercing, but it did sting. It also bleed a bit. I got a wet gauze pad and wiped it off.

Steve took the long barbell out of the package and slipped it through the needle. It was done! I looked in the mirror and I fell in love with my new piercing. It was really neat!

After that we took my brother to my uncle's and my friend home. We went to an Italian diner. of course my mom wanted to show the waiter my new piercing. He sat down with us and he was telling me how cool it was. At the time it didn't feel too cool due to the redness and swelling. The guy also went out to Steve for his piercings so he sat down and we started talking. It felt good to get compliments the first night of having the piercing.

Well the healing for this one sucked. With the scar tissue it was sensitive to anything I did to it. It got pretty damn infected. I decided to take the long barbell out and just keep a little one in my rook. After I did that it healed up perfectly. It's now one of my favorite piercing besides my anti-tragus. It is definitely a piercing that you can put practically any type of barbell in which is real easy to accessorize. I recommend anyone to get it done. The industrial piercing is becoming more common. Why not add a little spice to it. It's different and stylish!
