Hello there, BMEZINE fans. I'm going to tell you a story about how my gauges came to be.

It all started back when I was at the tender age of 1. My mother decided to take me to get my ears pierced, seeing as since I was a baby it would be quick, simple, and easy.

She couldn't have been more wrong.

Before the woman who was to pierce my ears even marked then, I kicked, screamed, carried on, and was just downright violent. Naturally, my earrings were never to be.

Fast forward to years later, at 14 I've yet to get my ears pierced, being against it and afraid that it would hurt.

So a little while passes and we get these new neighbors. One of them, Joe, has tons of tattoos and so does his wife, Mary. It so happens that Joe is a professional tattoo/piercing artist, and he does his own tattoos and his wife's. He offered to do my ear piercings for me, and after some debate, I agreed. So he came over with his wife and his daughter Mariah, and I started getting chicken. So just to show me it wouldn't hurt, he pierced Mariah's cartilage. After that, I went for it. I wound up getting two holes in each ear. I was quite happy with my new earrings, and a few months later I went next door to his house and he pierced my top cartilage.

Now fast forward to a year later, I'm now 15, and my earrings have been healed for awhile now. So around October or so, I went to a Kill Your Idols show. It was all good fun, and I was moshing it up like crazy. All of a sudden, some idiot tries to do a crowd surf. As he's climbing up onto his friend's shoulders, he kicks me right in my ear. I felt no pain, just the force of his boot on the side of my head. I was annoyed, but thought nothing of it, and went home in a good mood.

The next morning, my ear started itching, so I started feeling my ear to see what was wrong with it. When I pulled my hand back I came up with little chunks of dried blood. Naturally freaked out, I ran to my mother and asked her to check what was wrong. Her face twisted up in disgust and she said, "UGH, Cristina! You've got the whole post of the earring in your ear!"

So thinking she was crazy I got a mirror and checked. She was right. The post of my earring, which was barrel-shaped, was inside my ear except for a tiny sliver of it. After a slight struggle to get it out, I succeeded, but the back of my ear was stretched. I made a joke about how I could put a gauge through it, not serious at all at the time.

So a little while later, the same thing happens with the other earring post(I should have been smarter and got new earrings). Around that same time, my mother decided to go out and buy me earrings, but bought me 14s instead of the regular 18s. That night, I decided I WOULD, infact, gauge my ears. I slipped the 14s in easily, and was ecstatic. I felt on top of the world. But the happiness wore off fast. By now, I had discovered BMEZINE and was fascinated with all the piercings and body mods. My ears soon went to a 10, with the help of my friend Jon who provided the lovely blue hoops.

Shortly after, I went to the mall(out of all places), and bought some great 10 gauge horns. That's what is currently in my ears now, and they're beautiful, even though I'm still very bored with them. I just got over an infection from putting them in my ear(NEVER shove gauges through!). The only problem I've had with my horns is the fact that they keep getting caught on my clothes(I should have expected that though). I'm hoping to get my ears up to a 0, at least, though my mother isn't too thrilled. Currently, I've got the 10 gauge horns in my bottom holes, 16 gauges in my top, and Jon's 16 gauge nipple ring in my cartilage(stupid on my part, I know). I'm hoping to get more mods, those being more ear work, my bridge, nose, eyebrow, lip, nipples, navel, hood, and a few tattoos.

For now, that's the story of how my 10 gauge ears came to be, and soon enough I'd like to update about how my lovely gauges got bigger. I've found that even something as small as a 10 gauge can be a very exciting experience, especially if you're obsessed with body mods!
