OK, so I will start off by saying that I have already gotten my tragus pierced and I love it. I think it is the best piercing you could ever get done. This anti-tragus I had done hurt way more than my tragus. I was 13 when I had that done, and I had to beg to get it. I am 14 soon to be 15 now. I have 4 lobe piercings,2 of which I have stretched to a 10 g, my Tragus and my anti-tragus. When I went to get my anti-tragus done I was very excited because I had been bitten by the piercing bug. I am addicted to them. My piercer Jason was a real nice guy who I have had pierce me before, so when I came in it was no big deal. I went over with one of my friends, and my boyfriend. They were both very excited. I don't think as much as I was though.
At A Glance Author Roxann Contact Greendaytoyl6202@aol.com When Three months ago Artist Jason Studio Halo Location Syracuse Jason marked my ear and showed me, then asked if I liked it. Of course the piercer knows what is best so I said OK. I absolutely hate needles so I had to close my eyes. When he stuck the needle in it was a little pressure and that was it, it didn't really hurt that bad. I felt some blood and his cold hands, which kind of made me jump. He was a little rough putting the jewelry in and it bled a little, but nothing bad. It could have been way worse (I have seen pictures. After he was done I looked in the mirror and saw my new Anti- Tragus, I loved it. It was swollen and a little purple with some blood, but it looked good.
Like I said I am not good with needles so I felt dizzy and was seeing colors, so I had to lay back down, I was sitting on there couch and I started to feel a little better. I paid Jason his $45 and left him a $10 tip. I think that was a very good price for the excellent work he did. I won't go to anyone else.
The pain then finally came. About 10 minutes later my ear started to throb and I had a head ache. It was nothing I couldn't handle. It was just really annoying. I then went on with my day and that night I slept on my ear. Even though it was a little pain, but on my other ear I got a head ache. I then figured out if I pushed the jewelry forward it wouldn't hurt so bad, so that night was OK.
Then came the worst. After a few days the swelling still hadn't gone down, and I was kind of worried. I had been salt-soaking my ear everyday and washing it with antibacterial soap in the shower, I don't know why it was still bothering me. After about a month it was still swollen, and very tender. Then soon after that it started to ooze out puss and hurt very bad. I couldn't touch it without screaming in pain. I didn't know what to do.
I called my piercer Jason up and asked him what I should do, he told me to keep soaking it and then wash it with soap afterward, I guess what had happened to my ear was some of the salt had gotten into it and clogged my ear hole up and caused and infection. Not good, so everyone hear that, WASH YOUR EAR AFTER YOU SOAK IT!!!! So now it has been three moths and my ear is fine. The swelling has gone down and then pain is no longer. I can move it and play with it without any problems. I am waiting to go get my rook and daith done next, hopefully they wont give me as many problems.
People just need to remember not to play with your jewelry within the first few months and clean it a lot. Salt soaking helps too. I think it is the best thing. It is recommended to all, it should help your piercing heal faster.
I definitely recommend getting your Anti- Tragus done to anyone who is thinking about it. It looks awesome and to this day I haven't seen anyone in person with it done. Could be because I live in a small town where piercing's are very out of the normal or I guess I am just unique. I think piercing should be unique and for your self. Don't go and get something done to your body that you are going to regret in a few days, weeks, months, or years. Good luck getting your piercing and I hope my story helped someone out, or else this was just a waste of time.
