Well in Oklahoma it is illegal to get anything pierced if you are younger than 18. That meant I had to talk Mom into taking me. I've always been interesting in body piercings and tattoos I just hadn't ever gotten the chance to express my appreciation for them. I was thinking about getting an industrial but my ears stick out a little bit so I decided it would look really bad. My friend got her tragus done and was planning on going back and getting her other one. I thought it just looked great on her. That's when I decided I wanted to get my trag done as well. When I first dropped the idea on my Mom she automatically said no. I just kept bugging her about it and told her it could be alot worse. I kept telling her I was going to get a tattoo as soon as I could if she didn't take me (which I plan on still doing) then I also told her it could be my nipples (which I plan on doing this sunday actually) but I don't tell her any of that. I finally brought my friend over to show my Mom what it would look like and she actually admitted that she thought they looked cute.

My friend recommended me to 23rd street body piercing which is on the north side of Oklahoma City and told me to have Jason pierce me. He had done her tragus and her belly button and she had no trouble with any of these piercings. My mother and I finally headed out on a Saturday to get my trag done. She told me she felt physically sick the entire way up there which is close to a 45 minute drive. She couldn't believe I would actually put myself through the pain. I explained to her the reward was alot greater than the actual pain of a piercing. I don't think she understands still to this day what body piercings and modifications are all about. Anyways back to the story.

I walked in and was surprised at how clean and how nice the place looked. They had leather couches and artwork hung all over, mostly of tribal piercings. I was automatically greeted by a friendly girl with piercings all over her face. I told her what I wanted and she thoroughly went through all of the information I needed to know and aftercare. I picked out my jewelry which was just a plain silver ring with a silver ball which was an 18g and headed to the back. The room looked cleaner than my doctors office of dentist office. Jason made small talk with my Mom who was still very unsettled and joked with her about why she wasn't getting a body piercing. He put on his gloves and a mask which made me feel even more comfortable at how much effort they put into making the process as sterile as possible. Finally he had me lay down and take a deep breath and exhale and he put the needle through. I felt alot of pressure and heard the needle exit the cartilage and skin. Ther e was very little pain just a little bit of a throbbing. It was so easy I couldn't believe I had even worked myself up over it. He fed the jewelry through which just felt like more pressure. It felt really hot and throbbed for about an hour or so after. It healed really fast.

I had some crusties and blood and it stayed really swollen for a couple of weeks I guess which wasn't too bad. It took about a month and half before I could comfortably sleep on the side which I had pierced. I get alot of compliments on it and most people just exclaim that it looks like it would hurt really bad. I always assure them that it didn't and I don't think any of them believe me. Pretty soon I'm going to go get the ring changed to a barbell. I want something that will look good with my prom dress.

I plan on getting my other one done after this summer because I would not be able to get in chlorine and such this summer if I got it done now. I'm afraid I'm going to become addicted to body piercings because not too long ago I started to get bored and I've decided to get my nipples done because it's something that's hidden. I might get my belly button and tongue done as well when I turn 18. I don't fit the type at all that would want to have body piercings but I enjoy being different. I highly recommend tragus piercings because of the little trouble I had with mine, which I owe most of that to 23rd street and Jason my piercer.
