Ok here it goes. I had basically been on my knees everyday begging my mom with my life to get my rook pierced (I've wanted it since I was about 12) and every day she would say the same thing yeah ok maybe I'll think about it. I knew she was just giving me the run around and it began to come clear to me that it was probably just out of the question, but I didn't give a shiznit I kept on with it. Finally she made me a deal that I couldn't refuse. She told me if I could behave, keep in line with my teachers, and keep my grades up for three weeks I could then get my long awaited rook piercing. Needless to say I did it, it was hard but I did it. Now I was on my way for the greatest rush of my life.

At first there were no nerves what so ever hey I was with my friends who are all awesome and very supportive. We were making fun of each other cracking jokes and everything was just normal like its always been. We hadn't even mentioned were I was going once. It was kind of serial in a way.
Finally after about twenty minutes we were there and out of the hot car. So we walked inside and found a girl working in the front. My mom went up to her told her what I wanted done and she asked if I had id shit I thought I don't have id and school id's don't come out until a week later. And of course I waited far too long. So my mom said she had id but I didn't and they were nice enough to except anything with my picture and my name printed next to it. So great we had to crowed up in the hot car once again and drive back twenty minutes to my house.
Once we got back to my house all of us began rummaging through things to find something, anything. What was the one thing we just had to find you might ask? Well what we found was an id picture of me when I was seven with my hair so high I swear I bet it touched the ceiling. So then all my friends crowded around and made fun of my picture (I can't say that I blame them). By this time I guess my mom began to be doubtful and suggested going another day. I couldn't let this happen so I dragged her out and we were on our way again.
So we got back and then the greatest thing happened. Ok that was sarcasm to the fullest. Everything was going ok until I went into the room with the piercing person I guess they hadn't told him in advance what I wanted done. When I told him he scratched his head and said oh I've never done that before and I haven't yet learned how. I was so pissed all I had gone through and now this? As you could imagine my mom was tired of playing taxi. Luckily she was nice enough to take me to the other diversity by the mall.
So by this time my nerves got themselves worked up. My friends and me pilled out of the car and into the piercing studio. Once we walked in the first thing I noticed was the really hot counter guy in the front that set everything up his name was Geoffrey. Then the piercing artist walked out and let me just tell you this when Geoffrey asked if he could pierce my without even looking up he said "I'll pierce anything with a pulse today". He had big tusks in his nose and was bald and fat not as cute as Geoffrey but what can you do? He went out for his lunch break while my mom was filling out the papers and Geoffrey picked out my jewelry. I wanted something more interesting than what he picked out but he said I had to because titanium steel wouldn't infect my ear like the other ones might so I agreed to it.
My piercing artist returned and it was time to go. My stomach was doing flips. Then he told me my friends couldn't come in and it could only be my mom. We walked and he put on his music, which lyrics screamed "god hates everyone" and my mom kept making comments it was pretty funny. He washed his hands put his gloves on sterilized my ear and he was ready to do it. He counted to three and it was done to be honest I felt no pain what so ever and herd none of the famous "crunching sound" it went pretty smooth my ear was just warm after that it felt kind of good to be honest. But I have a very high tolerance for pain. After that he told my after care instructions and I was on my way in sheer bliss with my new rook piercing! I spent the night at my friends that night and it bled but only a little. You just have to take very good care of it and sea salt soaks help a lot!
So I would say if you want this piercing go for it! You only live once and its so cute! I get compliments all the time.
