I had been stretching my lobes for a short time, just a couple months, and only had them up to a 10g when I decided I really wanted my second holes done. I had gotten them previously done at a mall kiosk (what an idiotic idea that was) but knowing better I wanted them done professionally. I also know I had a better chance with my parents by showing them I was responsible enough to take care of a new piercing. My parents aren't the best when it comes to piercings and such, and are very much against any more than 2 or maybe 3 in each lobe. I had been doing the stretching without them noticing but after reading BME, I knew I wanted my second holes done professionally so I couldn't screw them up myself being the clumsy person I am. I went to my mom and at first she said no because she "didn't want her daughter messing up her body" which is exactly how my mom thinks. . I went to my dad and he said it was alright. I finally convinced my mom after about a month and, with reluctan ce, she finally agreed to take me sometime soon with no promises or guarantees.

I decided to go one day just to talk to him so my dad took me on his weekend and I talked to Shane about my second holes. I couldn't get them done that day but my mom had said that for V-day I could get them done. About 2 weeks later, me and my mom headed down to the place with my best friend with me. I waited and filled out all the necessary paperwork then waited for him to call me back which only took about 5 minutes.
I sat down in the chair and watched as he washed his hands and put on his first set of gloves. He marked the placement than had me look in the mirror to see if I liked the placement. He had asked me how big I was planning to go so he took that into consideration while marking me. He asked if I was ready as he changed gloves again and put on clamps. He told me on three he would pierce, but he did it on two so I wasn't prepared. It was barely more then a small pinch and I barely felt it as he changed the jewelry. He took a second needle and told me again to take a deep breath then pierced my other ear and put in the jewelry.
I looked in the mirror and was thrilled to see two 14g CBRs in my ears. I thanked Shane and tipped him. I told him I'd be back so I could professionally stretch my ears because I have bad luck with these type of things. I'm planning to back in about 2 weeks from today so hopefully my second holes will not be infected by then.
I went home and cleaned them as I was told to, which was 3 or so times a day sea salt soaks and to otherwise leave them alone, all the usual aftercare instructions which were also printed on a sheet of paper he gave me. I got a pretty bad infection in my first holes from the acrylic I had put in them (bad idea) and it traveled up to my freshly pierced second ones which caused them to be pretty bad for about a week. About 3 weeks after getting them done, I noticed a bump on the back of my left ear. I went in as I was really worried about it because I knew how bad it could get and was told the bump was most likely a keloid. I had figured it was either that or hyper tropic scarring but I think he was right. He said to use tea tree oil and if it didn't help to go to a doctor. The tea tree oil has been helping and so far it's doing well. I'm just hoping the keloid doesn't come back! I had to deal with a couple minor infections but all seems to be going well now and hopefully my bad luck doesn't settle in.
I'm planning on going back for help with my upcoming 8 or 6g stretch and I hope to get my 3rd holes done sometime soon after. For anyone considering any type of piercing, the only advice I have is to get it done professionally because its a lot easier to take care of and generally more sterile. Piercers can also provide you with better advice than anyone else can. Piercings are definitely addicting and I can't wait till I'm 18 so I can do the ones I want to.
