Like a lot of my piercings, my idea for this one originated at BME. I saw a picture of an ear with a barbell going through it twice. I was in love with what I discovered was an industrial. I already have 9 other piercings, so I figured I would go bribe my mother like I always do until she finally decided to give in. She had told me that I was not getting any more piercings, but I knew she would give in. I showed her a picture of an industrial, and she about had a stroke. That was one piercing she wasn't wanting me to get. But, after some more bribes and promises, she finally gave in. Now my journey began.

Studio West Coast Tattoos Location AL My best friend and I are really into piercings, so when I showed her the industrial, I wasn't surprised when she said she wanted one, too. We read up on them some more, and discovered that they were supposed to hurt a great deal. We thought nothing of it and went on in our merry bliss thinking of our new piercing that we were positive that no one else around our area had. Little did we know, we made a very ignorant assumption.
The first thing to do was to make sure that our parents knew that we were getting it done, as we are under 18, and in Alabama you have to have a parent sign for you. That part wasn't too difficult, and didn't do anything but fuel our desires. We then called to see how much it was going to cost, and found out it would be $50. So back to the parents we went, begging for money. After all that was out of the way, we were extremely nervous and ready.
Finally, our day came. We were shaking with excitement as we were getting ready. Then, our first problem presented itself. My mother couldn't find her purse with her license in it, so we thought we were pretty screwed. She found it, so there was relief. But, as we were fixing to leave, my stupid ass locked us out of the house, with the car keys, licenses, and money inside. That didn't stand in our way, we broke a window and got in, and off we went.
We arrived at West Coast Tattoos (by the way, very clean and a really great place to go if you live in north Alabama). We told the guy what we wanted, and he said, "Oh man that one hurts." We still didn't pay too much attention to it, and went about getting our piercing. Mom signed the papers and they checked our IDs, and it was decided that I was going first. I followed Chris (not sure if that is his name) back into the private room. He cleaned me and got me ready, and I found out that they weren't going to be using clamps on this piercing. The idea of that kind of scared me, but I had waited long enough to get this done, so I figured I could take it. Then he asked me if I was ready, and I said yes. I felt a sharp pain, nothing too serious, and there was the first hole. Then, I felt a small bit of relief in between the first and second piercings. He stuck the second one through, and I was thinking to myself, "Well that was nothing." Well, then came time for the b arbell. He told me that this would hurt more, and it did. When he shoved it through I cussed. It hurt so bad. Nothing unbearable, but it REALLY hurt. It was over, and boy did it burn. In fact, the whole day, it didn't stop burning.
Then my best friend's turn came. She had watched mine get done, but it didn't discourage her. He went through the same process with her, and we were done. On the way home we were both complaining about it burning. Like I said before, nothing too unbearable. The next day we went to school and everyone was asking us what we did. Everyone said it looked like it hurt and stuff. We have vowed that if we see anyone that goes and gets an industrial at school, we are going to pull it. LOL.
Anyways, my industrial piercing experience was a long, drawn out one, but certainly an interesting one. I soak my ear in sea salts every night and keep cleaning it. While I am at school people are always commenting on it, which is something that you get used to. I am almost back to sleeping normal, and I love it. So that is pretty much the end to the story. If you are thinking of getting this piercing, I say go for it. It doesn't hurt as bad as you might think, and it looks awesome.
