It's been almost seven months since my last piercings(my rook and eyebrow) seven very very long months. My friends and I decided that on December 31st we would head back into Marie's to get pierced again. Unfortunately it was like November 15 or around there so we had a long wait ahead of us. During that time I had a tough choice of which piercings to get. Since I wasn't aloud to have any on my face I chose to pierce my ears again.

After a few weeks of hmmmm should I get that or that? I finally picked my anti-tragus and conch. Anyone who had these done told me that I was going to be in a crap load of pain if I actually went through with it. Oh well what do they know. By piercing day I had not changed my mind it was anti-tragus and conch all the way. My sister, cousin, my two friend and I all piled into our little Neon and headed to Dartmouth. We arrived early and had to wait till Marie opened the shop up. And when she did we all shot out of the car and practically ran across the road.

We walked in and were greeted by Marie. My cousin went first and she paid then was led out back. When she reappeared she had a new tragus piercing. My sister was next and she screamed while Marie was clamping her navel. She has a low tolerance for pain even though she has had two tattoo's. Finally it was my turn. I paid, followed Marie outback and she told me to lay down on the table. She asked me which ear I was getting pierced and I told her that I wanted my anti-tragus in my right ear and my conch in my left.

After she preped my ear she marked my anti-tragus and told me to look in the mirror. I told her that it was fine and laid back down. When she clamped my ear all the thoughts of what people told me flowed back into my head. Oh $H!T what if it hurts as bad as people say. Marie must have noticed how uncomfortable I was because she asked me if I was okay. I told her I was a little worried about the pain that was supposed to come when she pushed the needle through. She laughed a little patted me on the arm and told me that if I can handle my rook then I can handle the anti-tragus but the pain would be roughly the same. Since my rook felt like barbed wire ripping through my ear I wasn't too worried about it.

Marie clamped my ear told me to close my eyes, and take deep breaths which I willingly obliged to do. The clamps were just teeny little things but they hurt a lot. Marie pushed the needle through my ear and I felt just a small amount of pressure. That's not what I expected to happen. She put the CBR in my ear and then struggled to get the bead in the ring. She explained that where it was such a tiny place it was difficult to get the bead in. She snapped the bead in and then got to work on my conch. My conch went through with quite a bit of pain but no where near the pain my rook had caused.

Marie took a couple pictures of my ears then she explained the care to me even though I've heard it lots of times. Then she told me about her free tattoo on your 18th birthday and told me to come down and she'd tattoo my horses name across my back for me. I thanked her gave her a tip and went back out front. I didn't even feel light headed like I did when I got my rook. I sat down and waited for my friend Nicole to get her tragus done. The longer I sat there the more my ears throbbed but that wasn't anything unusual. Nicole came out with Marie behind her. Marie gave us all extra jewelery and told us to come back or call if we had any questions or concerns and then we left.

As the bitter December air hit my ears I then felt a lot of pain. We got back to the car and then headed to my sister's work to get some Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen helps with the piercing after-pain more than Tylenol does. It's been 16 days since I got my piercings and the only time they hurt is when I tried to turn them the first time (hehehe 4 days afterward NOT a good idea to ever do again) and when I caught them on my clothing. Anyone thinking of getting an anti-tragus shouldn't listen to what anyone else has to say and they should just go for it.
