I have gained a recent fetish for odd ear piercings. I don't like the everyday lobe and cartilage piercings although I have those as well. I like looking at Bmezine and finding a piercing that is sure to make people go "you did what?!"

I now have my lobes, cartilage and rook done, rook having been my most recent piercing at this point, and I wanted something that would look cool but also look like it hurt. Based on this fact, I decided to get my anti-tragus done about three months ago. Although I have wanted my tragus done for many months I decided that it would be too painful and I really liked the way the anti-tragus looked, almost more than the tragus so I decided to go for it.

For those of you who don't know what an anti-tragus is it's the little nub right above the ear lobe. When I got it pierced the needle goes directly below the little nub and the jewelry, if a hoop, surrounds the nub.

I took my mom and my best friend along with me to Exotic Body Arts, which is the studio I have gotten all my piercings done in and I trust the piercer very much. My friend was going to get a piercing as well but the main event was my risky anti piercing. When we got to the studio I started to get a little nervous but was mainly very calm and very excited about getting my new hole. We filled out the required paper work and sat down to wait for the piercer to finish piercing some girls belly button.

After waiting for about 20 minutes, finally we were called back. I decided that I would go first so as I wouldn't get more nervous and chicken out. I sat down in the chair and the piercer, Spiderman, took out all of the apparatus in front of me and allowed me to pick out what size earring I wanted and where I wanted it exactly. He marked the spot where I told him to put the piercing and then proceeded to show me what exactly he would be doing while piercing my ear.

Now comes the piercing. I held my breath and waited for him to put the needle thru only because of the odd placement of the piercing he had to take a clamp and twist the tiny nub in which the needle goes thru so that the needle wouldn't penetrate my head when he put it thru. My friend, who was already scared by the piercing, looked scared out of her mind and kept telling me I was crazy for putting myself thru the pain. Although having the clamp on my ear wasn't the greatest feeling in the world it didn't hurt too much so I squeezed my eyes shut and held my breath again. This time he put the needle straight thru after having to put a little force behind it because of the thickness of the location. I remember when I got my rook done that Spiderman had to put more pressure behind the needle and was prepared for that. So the needle was thru and I knew, from prior piercing experiences, that the worst part was putting the jewelry thru. This fact stood true. When putting the jewel ry thru he had to keep the little nub twisted towards him in order to see and because of this it was hard to get the ball onto the hoop. This is the only part that caused me to get some tears in my eyes from the pain and also the blood, although there was only a little, but right away it was over and my new piercing was finished and oh so worth the pain.

It has been three months now since I got my anti done and with only some pain during sleeping and forgetting it's there while talking on the phone, my piercing is healing nicely and doesn't hurt at all anymore.

After having the piercing for about 2 weeks I started to notice a slight bump on the back of my ear but I simply continued to clean the piercing twice daily and eventually the bump went away and I now have a nice clean looking piercing. If anyone is ever in the Scranton area and wants to get a piercing, I strongly recommend Exotic Body Arts. It is a very clean place and Spiderman is an excellent piercer.

Anyone thinking about getting their anti done, I encourage them greatly. Yes, it hurts a bit but the pain doesn't last very long and soon you have a cool new piercing to show off and brag about to all the people too afraid to sit thru the small amount of pain required.
