Self Pierced: Warning don't try this unless you are sure you know what your doing.

It all started after I moved from my mom's house to Alabama. I wasn't too sure on getting a piercing at first but then I figured there was nothing wrong with it so why not. A few days after my move I went to Kaoz a piercing studio in Pensacola, FL and had my tongue pierced.

The next morning I awoke and figured well I've always wanted to pierce my ear so why not. My roommate had a few earrings lying around so I grabbed the first one I found and went to the bathroom. Since my roommate also had a tattoo kit I took an alcohol prep pad from the cabinet and thoroughly cleaned my ear lobe. Note that the earring I chose was one made for a fully healed piercing not a piercing stud with the sharp point. I was a little worried that I would do something wrong and end up going to the hospital or something but I realized quickly that was just a way of talking myself out of it yet again. I looked in the mirror and found the perfect spot on my lobe for the piercing and marked it with a skin marker from the tattoo kit. I stood there for a few minutes building up the nerve to go through with it while letting the earring soak in alcohol to get it as sterile as I could possibly get. I could feel the fear building up inside of me. You know that kind that always see ms to make you sick to your stomach. After a few more minutes I decided I had waited long enough and there was no sense in putting it off any more cause if I had stood there one minute longer staring at the little frog earring then I would back out again.

I removed the earring from the cap full of alcohol and removed the back. I took a deep breath and looking into the mirror I placed the end of the earring in the center of the place I had marked. Placing my thumb on the face of the earring and placing two fingers on the back of my lobe I applied pressure. At first it seemed like it wasn't going to break the skin so I applied more pressure. This time it broke through the skin but failed to break through the backside of my lobe. By now my ear felt like it was on fire. I started to remove the earring and say forget it but something inside told me to press on. Again I increased the pressure and still no luck. I got sort of angry that it would not break through and without thinking I applied as much pressure as I could and I heard a "pop" sound. I removed my hand from my ear and took a look in the mirror. The place where the earring was had became red and swollen but only a little bit. I lifted my lobe to get a look at the b ack and sure enough it had gone through. I dipped my fingers in the alcohol and put some around the earring and turned it slightly. I got the backing out of the cap of alcohol and placed it on the earring and couldn't help but grin. Even though it was a frog on my ear I was still happy that I had finally went through with it. I left that frog earring in for about a month turning it everyday and cleaning it as often as possible.

One day I was at the mall looking around and I came across an Independent Trucks earring that was cheap and looked really good. Only bad thing about this earring is it was a 14g and the hole I had at the time was much smaller. I bought it anyway and returned to the house. I removed the price sticker from it and immediately placed it in a cap full of alcohol. It was funny to think after being such a big chicken for most my life I was about to go through this all over again. I removed the frog that was in my ear at the time and placed it on the bathroom shelf. I removed one of the balls from the 14g ring and placed the threads up to the hole in my lobe. I got nervous when I noticed how much bigger the ring was in comparison to the hole. I just laughed it off and started applying pressure. Slowly it started going through. First stretching the hole in the front of the ear lobe and then proceeding to stretch the rear hole. I was expecting a great deal of pain but to my astonishment it didn't hurt one bit. It took me awhile to get the rear ball screwed back on mainly from lack of experience but once I did I moved the ring back and forth making sure it was grabbing any interior flesh and placed some alcohol on it. It didn't bleed or anything either time. For once in my life I had actually done something that I had always wanted. Now I cant get enough. I have two tattoos and two piercing with many more planed. Well that's my story I hope you like it.
