Well I am 18 and it would be my first 'independent' piercing-all the 7 i did before were done with my mother's authorization... she never agrees when I say Iīll have somewhere pierced but I am just SO annoying when thereīs something I want too much!! But this time it was different: I am 18 and there was nothing she could say!

It had to be a different one, something that I had never thought about doing before! Specially when you are entering a new phase in your life(no boyfriend! yahoo!)...so I chose Rook, which Iīve always liked but never had enough courage to do, as it is a very very difficult place to pierce(in my old conception!)...and i thought: letīs do it! I just couldnīt wait to have it pierced!
So in a saturday morning, after school(yes, i DO have classes on saturdays), there I was with a friend and R$ 60...when we entered the studio I felt very nervous but as I talked to the piercer I was calming down! You canīt imagine how important being in a trustworthy studio is to feel relaxed before getting pierced!! Forget about the price: nothing pays the sensation of security a real pro can offer!!
After I payed and filled the form and chose a purple titanium ring she called my name and said: 'Are you ready? Letīs go!' And I said: 'Sure I am, letīs go...' My legs were shaking!
I then sat in the classic dentist-type chair and there I stood, squeezing my friendīs hand while the piercer was preparing all the stuff to get me pierced. When she got ready she asked me to make a ponytail, so my hair wouldnīt make her job difficult. The she cleaned my ear with a kind of a gel or something and after that she made a purple spot and asked me if I was okay with the placement-it was perfect! Then she said she would tell me when the needle goes in, and so she did!
I wonīt lie to you guys...it hurted like a bitch! I can tell you that from all the 8 piercings Iīve ever done, this one is the most painful with no doubt! Even Industrial doesnīt hurt that much! And you can imagine how difficult it was to put the ring on...rook is a very difficult place to get pierced thatīs all i say!!
After she put the ring It was perfect! I looked at the mirror and I couldnīt believe I got it pierced...It looked so cute and so wild at the same time! It feels very good to have a piercing that is unusual(well in my country it is! Everybody in Brazil gets the navel done...so common!)! You know that you have something special but others do not and this is so nice!!
Then she told me about the aftercare(which I know from the first to the last word!) and said that if I had any doubt or notice a problem all I had to do was give her a call or drop in the studio! This is very important as well...everybody should go to the studio where they got pierced to make a 'check-in', even if it seems to be normal...maybe itīs not!! Well, then I forgot about the pain and went to my favourite restaurant!! But one strange thing happened: The pain had stopped (or I got used to it) after 1 hour after Iīve done it, but everytime I had to run or step hardly on the floor, I could feel a little pain in my ear, itīs SO weird! Itīs like the pain goes from your feet to your ear!( you can imagine how much did it hurt to get it done, yeah?)
It has 3 months now and it couldnīt be more perfect! I feel no pain at all and in one or two months iīll change the jewelry...i just canīt wait!!
The aftercare is very simple: All you have to do is wash with an antiseptical soap and do the salt water thing during the healing period...if you follow the instructions youīll probably have no problems at all with the piercing!
It doesnīt even hurt to sleep over the pierced ear! Thatīs all I say: it hurts A LOT getting it pierced but after youīve done it there is no problem at all! And between you and me, thereīs no pleasure in getting anywhere pierced if it doesnīt hurt! NO PAIN, NO GAME!
I hope my story can make someoneīs decision easier to make! Some people donīt think so, but these stories are so helpful! And so are the pictures! Soon Iīll be sending mine!
