Ever since I can remember I never wanted my ears pierced. My mom, for some reason, was always trying to get me to get my ear pierced, but I never did. It was not until July of last year that I decided I was going to get my ears pierced. When I told my parents what I was going to do they actually told me that I would look like a girl. That comment alone did the exact opposite of what they were hoping, I now wanted it done more that before. I still did not know when I was going to do it though, I was sort of busy around that time so I just figured I go one day I was bored and had nothing to do.
At A Glance Author Brian Contact Brian@bme.anon When A year ago Location Wappingers Falls, NY It was about a week later that I got a chance to go. Everyone that knew about it told me to just go to the mall because it is cheap but I did not really want to. I do not know, I just never really trusted a teenager with a piercing gun. I also did not like the idea of a dull earring stud being forced through my ear with a gun that has been used on a hundred people before me. They all thought I was stupid for going to a tattoo and piercing shop just to get my ears pierced. All the people that were not questioning me on where I was going to get it done were making fun of me for wanting it done. See, almost all of my friends did not like piercings like I did, they all thought it was pointless. Well I gone pretty far off subject so I will continue with my story now.
Around six o'clock I headed up to the piercing shop. It takes a good half an hour to get there so at around six thirty-five I was inside. I was expecting to be nervous by this point but I was not, probably because this was not my first piercing, I already had my tongue pierced at the same place. Anyway, I had to wait because there were a few people in front of me. Finally, at around seven o'clock it was my turn. I told them what I wanted and one of the guys there who is a friend of my sisters was joking around and told me he had a staple gun down in his car and that he could use that if I wanted. But, since I'm trying to stay away from guns to pierce my ears I declined his offer.
I went in the back to the piercing room and he started getting everything ready, but before he took the needle or anything else out of their packages, he measured so the holes would be in the same spot on each ear and so it looked even. I guess I have a lopsided head though because it took him about fifteen minutes to get both marks right. I am glad he spent so much time, it would have sucked if my ears were pierced off center. After he had marked my ears, he finished getting everything ready. He took the first needle out of its packaging and got the clamps also.
He started with my left ear. He clamped my ear, which everyone says is the worst part, but I do not know why because it does not hurt at all. He made sure the clam was in the right place and then asked me if I was ready, I said yes so he put the fourteen-gauge needle up to my ear. He did not count or anything, he was just talking and all of the sudden he pushed the needle through. I was expecting it to hurt somewhat but all I felt was what felt like someone pinching me.
Once it was through he took the clamps off and put the first captive bead ring in. The funny part is that it actually hurt more when he was putting the ring in than when he pierced it. Once the ball was in, he wiped the blood off my ear and told me I was a bleeder. He then went on to my right ear. He did the exact same thing to that ear and the he was done. After he had everything cleaned up, he told my how to take care of my new piercings. I paid him the forty dollars it cost and gave him a tip and I left.
I was so happy to have them done. They were sore for about a week and it was annoying to sleep sometimes but they healed perfectly. My parents, of course, were not happy with what I did but there was not much they could do about it.
It has been about a year and a few months. Since then I have stretched my ears to half inch and could not be happier. I am probably going to stop at five-eighths of an inch. All in all it was a great experience and I could not have asked for a better one.
