I had wanted an industrial for some time. At least a year. I had researched it on here (BME) and decided I definately wanted it. I had heard that a place near where I lived would pierce cartiledge after you turned 17. I knew of a few friends that had gotten piercings at the place, called Expressions, so I was pretty confident that they could do it. I planned ahead with one of my friends to go one day that she didn't have to work.

I got my friend Mallorie to call ahead and ask if there was going to be a piercer there, since she lived near Expressions and she would be going with me. There was going to be one there, so I was pretty psyched by that time. I rode over there, all high on life, and we walked in. I asked them if they could do it, and they said sure, but we had to wait for the jewelry to be sterilized. I was kind of upset, because I didn't want to get really nervous, and I knew I would since we would be waiting around. We walked over to Lowe's foods that which is next to Expressions. While we were there we ate some cheesecake and got a bunch of candy. We enjoyed some calming down cigarrettes, because I was getting really nervous. I almost backed out.

Mallorie accompanied me back to the piercing room, and Jessie showed me where the placement would be, but I got him to change it a because I wanted it kind of lower on my ear. He told me that he wanted to put two little hoops where the bar was going to go, so it would heal better. I was really really nervous by that time, and they gave me a stuffed Alf to hug. Mallorie kept telling me everything would be ok, because I'm a big low pain tolerance pussy. He was about to do the first hole, and he told me to count to three, and then he put the needle through, and it didn't hurt too bad. It just kind of burned a little. I was so psyched! The first hole was done! That was the lower hole, however. It hurt more when he put the jewelry through, but nothing too bad. Then, it was time for the top hole. I asked him how bad it would hurt, and he kept telling me it would be really bad, and I thought he was just joking around. We were all laughing and stuff, I was trying to get my mind off of it so I would get more nervous. He told me to take a deep breath, and he stuck the needle in, and it hurt so fucking bad. I could hear the cartiledge pop and crack, it was pretty bad. I have a low pain tolerance, though. Again, the putting of the jewelry in was very painful. It was so worth it though. Then I was educated on the aftercare process. I was given some kind of salt and a few other things to put on it. I got a good deal, mainly because Mallorie knows Jessie really well, and I bought a bunch of other stuff that day. The cost of the piercing was 39.99. I was really pleased about it, because he told us that it would 50 bucks at first. I bought my friend a vibrator for her birthday, and we were laughing and joking around about it, it was good time.

I've had my industrial about 2 months now, and it's doing really well. I went to the Warped Tour about one week after I got it, which was probably not that good of an idea. If I were to do it over again I would have waited until after the concert to do it, because it got pretty beat and poked and stuff. It got really irritated for about a week or so after the concert, and during that time I did about one salt water soak about every day or every other day, and it seemed to clear it up. It definately did better whenever I just left it the fuck alone. It took about a month for me to be able to sleep on that side of my head and talk on the phone with that ear and listen to my headphones. That is probably the most annoying thing about this piercing. It still hurts from time to time, but nothing too bad, only when something hits it really hard or get caught on it. By the way, if you have long hair, be prepared to wear it up for a little while so your hair won't get caught o n it. The top hole isn't all the way healed yet, but the bottom is. When they both heal I can put my barbell in! I would definately recommend this for anyone, it looks good, and it's fairly unique.
