To start off, I have 3 regular lobe piercings ( 2 are slightly stretched to about 10 gauge), 14g belly button, and a rook! I really want my lip pierced but that won't happen for a few years because of my parents. I was looking on BME one day(I go on BME everyday!!) because I was looking for something new to get pierced. At first I wanted to get my tragus because it was very cute but when I saw the rook I knew thats what I was going to get and thought it was a little more uncommon then the tragus.

My mom was against it(shes against all piercings) at first but I kept begging and we decided we would get it done on my birthday. That didn't happen...but exactly one week later I reminded my mom and we were on our way!! When we got to Captive Elements there was only half hour before the place closed and it was totally empty besides the people that worked there. I told the lady at the counter that I wanted my rook pierced, we talked for a little bit, I showed her my I.D. and filled out the papers.

Skot came out a little bit later and brought me to the back room. He was a really nice guy and we talked about BME and things like that. I told him I wanted my right side done so I laid down with my right ear facing up. He told me to breathe in and out deeply 3 times and on the 3rd time when I was breathing in he would put the needle through. I wasn't too scared which is a good thing. When the needle went through I heard the popping but there was no pain at all! I told him I didn't feel anything and he said I must be tough. I do think I have a high tolerance for pain because my belly button was painless also. He left the needle in and got the ring. When he was putting the ring in there was a little pain but it lasted only a few seconds. He went over how to clean it and said if you take care of it and your healthy, it will heal fairly quick but if not it could take up to a year. I got up and looked at my beautiful new ear! I was very happy! We paid skot and were on our way.

When I got home I hung out with my friends and they loved my new rook piercing! It was kinda sore and it was also throbbing and felt kinda hot. That night I tried not to touch or lay on my ear because it was still a little sore. When I woke up the following morning I was laying on my right side so my ear hurt for a little bit. There was also quite a bit of crustie stuff. I took a shower and washed it all up and did a salt soak. It got swollen and its probably because it gets irritated when I sleep. I had a soccer game the next day and was a little scared that I would get hit on my ear! I had to cover the piercing with some tape and it hurt like a bitch when I had to take it off!

It's now been about 2 1/2 months. When I touch it or move the ring it sometimes gets sore. And I still get crusties once and awhile. The rook is pretty hard to clean but I do my best to clean it 1 to 2 times a day. One of the first times I cleaned it I had my mom do it and I almost passed out cause it was so painful, I'll never let her touch my ear again! I love how it looks and I can't wait till its healed so I can change the ring to a smaller one or a curved barbell( with pink spikes!).

The rook is a very cool piercing, people always ask me if it hurt and if its real, haha. I hate when people touch it especially since it gets sore when they do. I am very addicted to piercing and can't wait till I'm 18, I want a tragus to conch industrial a lip ring and a surface piercing below my navel!! I highly recommend Skot(hes the nicest guy ever!!) and Captive Elements is a great place, its very clean and the people are great. But for anyone who wants to get this I say go for it! Just make sure you clean it and don't touch it. Be patient because it's a little hard to clean but its worth it. Thanks for reading this, have a great day! :)
