I've wanted an industrial ever since I seen it on BME last year, convincing my mom was another story. No one from my school had one and none of my friends had ever heard of it. But they thought it was wicked.

But as things progressed though my trip I had an allergic reaction to something and mom wouldn't let me get it done anymore. So I ended up coming home empty eared.
Fast forward to last Monday. My mother and I went to town to do some shopping, I begged her like crazy to bring me to Skin Deep to get my ear done, but she kept saying no because my allergic reaction still wasn't totally cleared up. On the way home I took a fit saying I'd never get it done because she was too nervous to go with me. That night we we're talking and out of nowhere she said you can get it done on Thursday. I was completely amazed! She went from no to yes in less then a few hours, which was crazy!
My friends we're starting to get annoyed, I kept saying I was going but I never did get it done. So when I told them I was going on Thursday they just blew it off as another attempt. So I called up my boyfriend Chris and told him he was coming with me because my mother wouldn't. Then out of nowhere my mom yells out: you have to bring your little sister!!! Great. I tried to get my mom to say I didn't have to but she kept insisting she could say no again so I stopped bugging.
Fast forward to Thursday. I waited for what seems like hours for my mom to get home from work so I could get the car; getting more and more nervous. As soon as she got home, she gave the money I would need and wished me luck. So Sarah (My little sister) and I piled into the car and took off, I picked up Chris and we we're on our way. The place I was going, Skin Deep, was a half an hour drive away.
Once we got there I walked in and told them I wanted an Industrial, they asked me if I was the one who had called the day before; which I was. They made me read a form and fill it out then led me back to the studio, no waiting at all. The guy walked into a small room and I asked him if Sarah and Chris could come in also, they could but there was no way anyone else was gonna fit into there. I sat down on the bed and the piercer put on a big white coat... I asked him it was for and he answered jokingly: this is a bloody procedure. Great, now I was even more scared, even though he was just joking. He had everything set up because I called and told him I'd be in that day. He put on gloves and showed what he was going to be using. I found the needle a lot smaller then when I'd gotten my belly-button done, but I figured it was all about where it hole was going.
So he disinfected everything and said: Are you ready for some pain? Just joking again and this time it calmed me down a bit because if he didn't think this was too scary why should I? He started to pull my hair back and had a hard time holding it up. He said: Your hair is going to be a problem. To my surprise I joked around with him and said: My hair is always a problem. We all laughed. Eventually he just got me to hold it out of the way. Then he did it. He said the first hole would hurt the most because it was though my helix but it didn't hurt as much as the second one did! I'm not sure why it hurt more but I think it was because it had to go though more tissue because it's kind of on an angle. When he started to do the first hole, I put out my hand for someone to hold and my sister got there as fast as she could. After the first hole was done, she said: Hey she didn't ever squeeze my hand. But when it came time to do the second one I almost broke off her hand. I t wasn't an unbearable pain, just weird pain. But once it was over I loved my Industrial! I was almost vertical, from the top of my ear to just above my earlobe. I got up and was amazed I hadn't bled at all! My ear wasn't incredibly sore but I had a killer headache and my teeth hurt. I got up from the table and my piercer show me him throwing everything away; needle, gloves, etc. I went back to the front of the shop, paid and he told me about aftercare and to watch out with my hair because I always put it behind my ears.
Once we we're out of the shop and walking back to the car, I looked to Chris, he hadn't said very much during the whole thing and he told me he had almost fainted just from watching! I laughed and told him it was a good job he didn't hold my hand then. I took a few painkillers and my headache died down. When I got home I noticed it had bled a little bit but nothing extraordinary.
It's now the day after and I didn't sleep that well, not so much because of the pain, just worrying I was going to hit it during my sleep. Anyone thinking about getting an Industrial: Go for it!!! Not enough people get this piercing.
