I never was to bothered about piercings until sometime last summer. I just kind of looked at my ear and decided what a cool place that would be to have pierced (tragus)

I only had my lobes done once then and I thought no way could I go through with it.

I went to Wales that year and saw this little piercing place and just had a look in the window at prices and that. This was like on the first day and I spent the whole week thinking how much I wanted it done, but letting the wimp in me keep saying 'no it's gonna hurt'

Then eventually, I woke up on the last day and thought what have I got to lose. Lets just go for it. So I went in to town that day to the piercers, I was so bloody nervous and I went and asked how much it would cost. He said £15 and it would be pierced with a needle and a ring. The 'needle' part scared me, even though it's quite obvious that a needle would have to be used.

I spent about 30 seconds thinking about it and said yes.

I went into a little room at the side, the room was clean and seemed sterilised but to be honest I was to nervous to notice anyway. Let's call the piercer 'Paul' because I fail to remember his name. Anyway, Paul explained what he was going to do and asked which side I wanted done. I hadn't thought about that and randomly said the left side.

I had to lie down on this bed and Paul put on some gloves and used a little wipe to clean my tragus. I was so nervous by this point but there was no way I was backing out. He told me he was going to put a clamp on it and it may feel a little weird. It was just a tiny bit of pressure, it was really nothing at all. Then he said he was going to pierce it. He told me to close my eyes and take a breath in then exhale. As i exhaled he pushed the needle through. My first reaction was 'Yay I've done it and I didn't fucking hurt'

It seriously doesn't, its a bit gross because you hear the gristle I suppose being pushed through. He put the ring in for me and I was all done. He told me to use surgical spirits twice a day for six weeks. I've been told its a bad thing to use, but it didn't bother my ear at all. Each to their own I guess. Surgical spirits is supposed to be to harsh for piercings and I haven't used it on my others. But to be honest it seemed to help my ear a lot. I probably wouldn't reccommend using it but I didn't know any better at the time.

I walked out and my mum thought I'd backed out because it was so quick. I paid him the money thanked him and left. I had a cool little blue ring in my ear. My tragus bled a bit, but who cares I was so proud of myself.

I made sure to clean it twice a day and after 6 weeks of nagging teachers I was finally able to change it. It was a bugger to get out because of the ball on the ring. My tragus swelled up quite a lot, but it went down again the next day. I sometimes where a stud in it, I sometimes where a ring. It's always easy to change. I can't leave a stud/ring out for to long though because I do have to force it if I leave it out for too long.

I love my tragus so much, I have a little purple hoop in at the moment and it's the most well behaved of my piercings. It doesn't cause my any pain. Unless for somebody knocks it or something, which doesn't happen often. I used a cheap manky stud once though and it made me tragus really sore for a few days so don't but crappy earing's I then wanted my navel done. So I did, then my nose. Then i got my lobes done again. I'm getting my tongue done in a few weeks and my other tragus at the start of the summer holidays.

If you want your tragus pierced just go for it. It looks cool and suits every one (in my opinion) It doesn't hurt and thats the truth. Go for it seriously.

And just for the record, yes, piercings are addictive.

If any one has any information on tongue piercings I'd be really grateful because I'm so scared about that one. Thanks
