Some nights you just want something done. I wanted something done to my ears, but I had been into my favorite shop a couple days before and they didn't have the plugs I wanted. It was a Friday night and my friend and I were looking for fun. I suggested sticking some holes in us. She was going to get her ears pierced...and I was going to get something done on my ears, I just wasn't sure what. My favorite piercer was working, so it was definitely on. We drove downtown to American Graffiti, which is by far the best shop in Sacramento. Maybe I'm a little biased, but really, its the shop I've come to prefer.

We chatted it up on the porch a while, me talking to Scott about finishing my chest piece, and whatever other random conversation struck. After Scott went in, Heidi and I were left with Elton Berry, the piercer. I told him that he should do some work for us and we did a little discussing. Heidi was simple, just poking holes through her lobes, but I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. I'd been toying with the idea of a snug piercing, but I had also been toying with the idea of a tragus piercing for years. Elton had some ideas of his own though.
Elton brought up something called threaded, that he claims to have invented. It's a barbell that goes thru a bit of cartilage and comes out through part of your ear lobe. I wasn't quite sure what he meant, but I was intrigued, so we went upstairs so I could see some pictures. I checked out his portfolio and was impressed with this piercing. I wasn't sure how simple it would be to take care of or the hurt factor, but I wanted something done. I said it looked good to me. Elton set up all his goodies and I got worked up and excited. It has been a while since I've been stuck with anything, and well...I had never been officially pierced by Elton. He had just done some stretching and he had fixed a few things here and there. But I trusted his work, as I trust anyone's work at that shop.
This piercing was pretty painless, but took forever. Lots of preparation and lots of patience and lots of awkward feelings. It was a slow process but well worth it. It's kind of an odd place to get pierced, so you have got to take time and make sure everything lines up just so. So Elton could take all the time he wanted, I don't want my ears to be fucked. The first bit of stabbing gave a little bit of hurt, but not as bad as I had prepped myself for. About halfway thru, for some odd reason my body thought he was done and I sat up, with a big long needle sticking out of me. Yea I'm smart. Sorry Elton, next time you're gonna have to tie me down.
After laying back down, Elton stuck a q tip in my ear, in case he accidentally lost a ball, he didn't want me having a ball stuck in my ear (see how nicely they take care of me there, awww). He stuck the barbell in and screwed on my balls and although it felt a little tight, the screwing on of the balls was probably the worst part. It'd been a long time since I had gotten pierced, and it was worth the wait. After it was over, I had a nice, unique piercing. My first time being pierced by Elton was good times. I'd recommend him to anyone. A good piercer whose good conversation and will make jokes about spooning me...can't go too wrong there. This shop has yet to do me any wrong and I will continue to recommend them and their staff.
The healing process has been good. Minor crusties, not too much nastiness. I clean it by getting some hot water, sticking a q tip in it, and rubbing it around the holes. Then I move on to cleaning it with some cleaning solution. It's pretty low maintenance and after only a couple weeks I can sleep on it without too much discomfort. I wish I had a better web cam, so this piercing couple make sense, but no such luck there. I am on iam, so if you want to see pictures, just go to my page. Killstareyignite.
p.s. after a little more bme research, it looks like I've got a semi transversal lobe. Who would have known. Threading is good enough for me. I'm looking forward to getting the other ear done in the same fashion. I need some symmetry.
