I decided to get my tragus pierced while I was out in town doing some shopping. I had a friend's 18th to go to at the weekend and was in buying a new outfit. I figured, especially since it was during exam time, I needed to indulge in a little retail therapy. It's always worked wonders for me!

The last piercing I'd had done was my tongue, which had been pierced less than a month before. Other than that though, my piercings are minimal- just the usual two in the lobes of each ear, and two cartilage piercings on my left ear. I wanted to get both my tragus and my rook done, and so decided right then to go get it done. I think once you start on the whole piercing thing, it's pretty hard to stop it! When I got my tongue done, my mum and dad never spoke to me for a week, which was pretty funny, and now they offer me money everyday for me to take it out. If they offer me a ridiculous sum of money then of course I will (and then get it re-pierced once I go to University in October)but for now, I'm pretty happy keeping it in and being broke! But yeah,so I figured that getting my ear done wouldn't be that bad in their books, and they wouldn't freak that much, and so I went and got it done (in truth though-even if it was going to piss them off, I probably would have still we nt and got it done because once I get something in my head,it stays there until I've done something about it.)

I dragged my unwilling friend with me (she's a bit of a pussy at times to be fair) and walked down to Richard's. As far places to get pierced in Aberdeen go, I would say that Richard's is the ONLY place to get done. Sure, there are other places, but none of them I would trust with inserting metal through my flesh. They're just too damn dodgy!

So yeah, I wasn't at all worried about getting my tragus done, even though I had heard that it was the sorest piercing (I don't believe that though- there has got to be more sensitive areas!). And I wasn't let down in thinking it wouldn't be sore. As I sat on the chair in the back of the studio and Richard pierced me, I wasn't thinking of any pain, just the clothes that a still had to buy (a gorgeous combat skirt from Warehouse and a cute little pair of booties to go with it!). But honestly, it doesn't hurt a bit. Especially I think if you go to a respectable piercing place. Richard's freezes the ear for piercing which is always good! My experience was pretty much over within a few minutes: he took me in, cleaned my ear, put some tissue in it to stop anything going down the root canal, and put some numbing stuff on it. After waiting for a few minute he then got the needle and pierced my ear. Before we'd begun he asked if I wanted a standard ring in my ear. I did, so that was all good. I had originally wanted to get my rook done at the same time, but he said that wouldn't be a good idea because something about the clamps not doing both of them at the same time. I just figured what he meant was that it would hurt me too much to get them both done in the same day because the clamp would irritate whatever piercing had just been done.

Since that was the case I decided to get my tragus done and would go back another time to get my rook done. But yeah, as I was saying, the piercing was pretty much painless. It was just a bit nippy when he was bending the metal into a ring and that was about it. After he was done, he gave me a sheet on aftercare and I paid him twenty and we were all good to go.

Outside I showed my friend Laurie who had been waiting for me, and also my two other friends who had just happened to come to the studio at the same time as us- Debbie and her boyfriend J. J was in to get his second tattoo. So we decided to stay and wait with Debbie to see the finished result. The tattoo was wicked! So everything was all good.

Then once we were done at Richard's, we went back shopping and I got all the clothes that I was wanting to buy. I'm a bit broke now though so god knows how I'll manage to get money to pay for Amanda's 18th! Oops, neva' mind!!

So, if you're thinking of getting this piercing done but have some hesitations (why, I do not know), then go for it! It's so simple, and so un-sore!
