After a few weeks of having my anti-tragus, the urge to be pierced happened again. My friends and I were looking around 7th sun because I wanted my ears stretched again. I was talking to Bryony about piercing and stretching and I was complaining that I wanted either my Rook or snug done. She was like "Yeh get the snug done, it's quite unusual" I paid for my tunnel and they booked me in for an appointment at 5pm. My friends and I slinked off to see 8mile, which by far is one of the most boring films I've ever seen. Half way through the film, I started to panic. I went to check the time that the film finished. It was 5pm, it was now 4pm and my friends wouldn't leave with me to get my new hole in my body. I started to freak out. I wouldn't make it to the appointment on time and I didn't want to go alone. A piercing isn't a piercing without a friendly hand to hold. My friend text Bryony to tell her that we'd be late. The film finished at 5pm - the time of my appointment. I was r eally upset with my friends by this time. Due to traffic, we were 25minutes late for my appointment and 7th sun was closing. It didn't look likely that I'd be getting my snug done today. Since I'm a regular all the staff in 7th sun know who I am. I was standing at the front of the shop staring through the window looking rather pathetic. Bryony saw me and started to laugh. She let me in. I apologised for keeping them all behind. Chris was willing to pierce me even though I was so late. He smiled at me and asked me what I was having done today. I grinned and said "A snug and a stretch please". He went to get the tools, cleaned my ear and sterilized the microbar that was going to be rammed through my ear in a couple of minutes time. I sat in the piercing room, while getting rather impatient. I walked out the room and started casually talking to all the staff. After a while Chris was ready. He called me back to the room. He autoclaved my tunnel and started chatting to me about my anti-tragus. He said it was healing nicely.

"Right, we'll do the stretch first" Chris said After that he put lubrication on the taper and pushed it through my ear. I only felt a slight pinch and my ear started to burn. I had a lovely 8mm hole in my ear.

Then they went on to the snug, Chris's wonderful assistant clamped my ear and Chris began to push the needle through.

Needle? There was a needle? I certainly didn't feel one. Just a small prick and it was through. No blood up the walls, no swearing the building down. Nothing. My friend who was holding my hand was surprised she still had one. I didn't squeeze the life out of it this time. He put the bar on and I had the latest addition to my ear. In a state of bewilderment I casually asked, "That was pathetic. Where's the pain?" Chris laughed and called me "The local sadist" and I beamed with delight.

He gave me the, "I-trust-you-know-what-to-do-because-you've-had-so-many-piercings-done-here" talk and I could leave My ear was a bit sore and then the numbing solution wore off. It was just a bit tender that's all. Nothing major.

I got the bus home and run up to mum showed her my new hole and I asked her if she liked it. A big resounding NO came from her and she begged me not to get anything else done. Pah, as soon as these are healed I'm getting a Rook and matching Snugs... maybe my tongue just to freak her out. Hehe!

Its a few weeks later now. It's fine, no bleeding or anything. Except I went to a few gigs and some kid knocked my ear. It bled a tiny weenie bit but my friends were standing next to me with ice at the ready. Apart from the usual cleaning, I've found that putting a tea bag on fresh piercing helps a lot. It stops itching and it's just nice. However. Do it over a sink. It gets a bit messy.

I would recommend getting a snug to anyone. It IS disappointingly painless and I think it would make a good first piercing or a good piercing for people who are wusses (like me) however I've been told it has a long healing time but mine has minimal crust and is behaving its-self so I don't really mind.
