I think it all started when a lady came through my checkout. She had stretched her lobes to the size of an orange, it was huge. I couldn't believe how the lobes could stretch to that size and was so fascinated so I asked her a few questions about how she did it and how long it took her, thinking to myself I would never have the guts to do it myself.

About 3 months had passed and I decided to stretch my ears. But first I had to go and get my ears pierced. The last time they were pierced was when I was 6 years old and I took them out after 2 weeks cause I looked to girly. At the time I was a bit of a tomboy.

I had my ears pierced at a shop in the mall where I worked. It cost me $30.00 (AUS). The guy told me to let it heal for 3 weeks and come back and see him.

After 3 weeks I went back and he had a look. He said they were fine and I can begin stretching whenever I was ready. I thought great. I was really excited.

The next day I went back to the same shop. I was looking in the cabinets where all the body jewellery was, and the lady behind the counter asked me if I needed any help.

I started asking her how I would go about stretching my ears. She said "All you have to do is buy one of these." And she pointed to the acrylic horns that she had in the cabinet. "And push them through your ears." I looked at her and asked "What all in one go?" She said "Yeah sure. I did it to a guy the other day." I thought OK cool. So I bought the horns and took them home.

That night I tried it, on the ladies advice. I took my sleeper out of my left ear, cleaned my ear and cleaned the horn in anti-bacterial soap. After this I put on my trusty rubber gloves and tried to shove this 4 gauge horn through a 20 gauge hole in my lobe.

The pain was excruciating, my ear bled a little when the tip of the horn passed through the back of my lobe. After it had gone through the back of the lobe I left it for 20 minutes for the pain to subside a bit. Afterwards I tried again pushing and pushing until the horn was halfway through my lobe. At this time I was in pain. My ear lobe was so fat and red, I couldn't touch it anymore so I left it. That night I slept on my right hand side trying hard not to roll on my left hand side.

The next day I woke up and had this lump the size of a golf ball on my neck. My glands had swollen up on my neck and I had the worst headache. I went to work that day in pain. I arrived at work and everyone was commenting on how painful it looked, and all I could say to them was "I know."

The day passed and the glands in my neck hadn't got any smaller. As soon as my boss arrived at work, she pulled me to one side and told me that I can keep my labret in as long as I keep it covered, but the thing in your ear has to go. I was so disappointed because of all the pain that I had gone through to try and get this horn through my ear.

I took it out at work on my lunch break, and when I did it was not a pleasant surprise. It was bleeding and oozing with yellow crusty bits. I had to cover it with a band-aid because I didn't have any anti-bacterial soap to clean it with, and if I had left it uncovered, customers would've been sick at the sight of it.

When I got home that night the hole had shrunk. So to save it closing, I cleaned my ear with anti-bacterial soap, Listerine, warm salt water, everything that I used to clean my labret, and then I put my sleeper back in.

The next morning the swelling had gone and my neck and returned to its normal size.

Since this experience my ear has healed really well with a lot of TLC. I now have 8 gauge CBRS in my ears hoping that this time around will be more successful. I sought out the advice from a professional and searched through dozens of web sites to learn more about it.

I urge anyone who is considering stretching to not do what I did as it can lead to many dangerous outcomes. I was lucky to not have torn my ear and my cartlige. Always take it slow and if your not sure go and ask a professional.
