This is my second BME experience; the other was my navel, which was over a year ago. Since then I have been turned into a complete Mod and BME addict. I'm a nearly 15 year old female and my parents are both pretty much against any mods besides ears.

Now, on with the story. I was in St Johns, visiting my friend. I wanted another piercing for a really long time now, but my mom won't let me do anything else but my ears since I had my navel done. So, first of all, I'm underage, so we needed to get my mom's permission, which we did. We made the appointment at Abstract, and me, 2 of my friends (Emily and Steph) went to the piercing place, and Steph's mom went down with us as my guardian. We showed ID and filled out some forms, got an aftercare sheet, picked out my jewelry, a 16 gauge CBR with a tiny diamond in the ball, and then sat down to wait. I was thinking about getting either a lower helix or a daith, but my daith is considerably small, so I decided on the lower helix, the closest thing to it. We looked at some tattoo magazines until my piercer, Francis, was ready.

He took me, Steph and Emily into the room, and sat me down on the chair. He had several eyebrow rings, 2 lip piercings, a nose ring and his lobes pierced many times. I told him what I wanted and he replied, "You got more balls than me" This had to be the funniest thing all day. I didn't get nervous until this point, when he was preparing the needle. He was VERY sanitary, used gloves and had everything clean. He checked the area and decided it was ok to pierce (yay!) Francis explained the procedure and everything to me, and was very nice. He also let Steph take pictures so I can send them to BME. He kept asking if I was ok, I think he thought I was too fragile and would pass out any minute. He was wrong though. He had a straight needle first, but then decided to use a circular one, so it wouldn't poke me in the head; this was probably a good choice. He showed me where he was going to do it, and checked with me it was ok; I told him it was perfect. Steph took a "before" pictur e and we were all ready to make more holes in my body!! Yay!! He ran the needle through this clear stuff, polysporin or something, I assume, and then put it to my ear. He started to push it through the skin, (little ouch), I heard the crunch as it continued into the cartilage (bigger ouch) and felt it break the last bit of it (hurt like a motherfucker) and then out through the other side. It was the most intense, but enjoyable pain I've ever experienced. I was smiling the entire time. He ran the rest of the needle through and Steph took a picture with the needle in. He started to insert the jewelry. At this point I started bleeding really heavily, which is normal considering I have very thin blood. He held a tissue to it until it stopped and then finished putting the ring in. He had a bit of trouble putting the ball on, "little ears, big hands" he said. But anyway, he got in on, and followed by asking me a thousand times if I was ok, I was! I was great! I looked at it close up in the mirror and fell in love with it. Steph also took a picture at this point.

He told me to watch him throw away his needle and the cloth it was laid on. He explained how the needles are given to the hospital since they dispose of them safely and told us how the only thing kept is the instrument used to close the ball into the ring. I thanked him a hundred times and we left the room to go pay. It cost 54$ altogether. It was so worth it. The receptionist also commented on how nice it was. Francis came out again before we left to make sure I had an aftercare sheet, and then we left.

We found Emily and Steph's mothers and then we drove back home. Francis told me not to clean it until the next day; so today (I got it done yesterday) we went to the drugstore and got some antibacterial soap to wash it with. I have to wash it twice a day, I cleaned it this morning and I'll be off to do it again when I get this written.

I have 8 piercings now, my 14 gauge navel, three 18 gauge lobe piercings in each ear, and the lower helix of course. I'm considering stretching the lobe holes when the helix is healed, maybe to 12 or 10 gauge for now.

Anyway, that's my experience!! Hope I'll have another one soon. Happy modding!
