Well to start out I'll tell you a bit about what the hell I'm going to talk about. Right now I have eleven piercings. Nine of which are pretty common. Both eyebrows, both lobes stretched to 4g, my tongue stretched to 6g, both nipples, my septum and my navel, and the ones that I'm writing about. My vertical transverse lobes so far the piercings I'm the most happy with.

I was looking on bme looking for some odd ear piercings that didn't involve cartilage. I saw vertical lobes and knew they where for me. After talking to my mom about them for a while I went down to my old piercing shop and talked to the piercers down there about doing them. When I saw the look on their faces I knew this piercing was going to be a big deal. They told me how it was going to be performed and how long the piercing would take. They explained how long the healing time would be and it really was a long time. Almost a year to heal just one of them. That shocked me a bit and told me to wait a while and think about it. Well the day I came in to get it done I found out that both of their piercers had quit to open their own shops. So I had the owner of the shop do it. For the most part she did a very good job but I really didn't like her technique. By the time I was comfortable in the chair I alr eady had a needle halfway through. That one was in my left ear. It healed up nicely and had really no pain after the piercing.
About four months later I found my old piercers new shop. This made me greatly happy because now I could get my other vertical lobe done without worrying. His shop is one of the cleanest piercing shops I've ever seen and everyone there has a great attitude. If you ever go Jim the tattoo artist is a bit of a jackass but after you get to know him he really is a great guy. I would recommend Mojo Studios to anyone around here looking for good work and a professional attitude toward piercing and tattoos.
Two months later and a couple piercings I decided I wanted my vertical lobe done. Dan had a two for one piercing day for his birthday. So I got my septum and my vertical lobe done. It really was a fun day. Except for the fact that my mom wouldn't take me up there until the day before to get my septum retainer autoclaved so it didn't get done. So in turn I didn't get my septum pierced until a week later. There was a bunch of hicks in the lobby waiting to watch their daughter get her "belly button pierced." They made a family day out of it funny huh. In total it took what seemed like a full minute. I'm not quite sure how long it really took. But I do know that my lobe collapsed a few times so he had to straiten that out. The cartilage was the most painful part and made a whole lot of nice pop sounds as it went through. It sounded like someone was popping bubble wrap next to my ear. I could feel the tip of the needle breaking through the cartilage and that was very pain ful. There was a small piece of my cartilage in the needle after came through. He slid the barbell through and I could feel the threads all the way through that almost hurt more then the needle. He tightened up the ball and gave me the mirror. It was identical to my old one and I was so happy to finally have my ears even again.
It has been about two weeks into the healing process and its doing great. I can sleep on it and talk on the phone. They crust and that's about it they don't hurt too often and it takes a lot to irritate the piercing. Really all I do to clean them is a salt-water soak once a day and I rinse off the crusties in the shower. I get a lot of complements on them, even from people with mods that I dream about having. Both of these piercings have great memories and are my favorite piercing of all the ones I've had and have. And trust me there have been a few. As for my first one it's almost fully healed and has migrated a bit. But the migration isn't noticeable it probably will be if I ever take them out. I'm thinking about getting second ones next to them to have paired but I'm not sure how it would work out.
