Ever since I saw the anti-tragus piercing on this website, I adored it. I immediately starting talking to Matt about piercing mine that very night, since he is my friend. I asked about 2 people how much it hurt, and went on and on and on about worrying if it would hurt a lot or not. I must have bugged the hell out of Matt, because it took about 2 months for me to be able to finally come in. I was afraid to ask my mom. Scared that she would tell me no, and since I had my heart set on it, I would be crushed. But to my great joy, she didn't say no. She actually told me I could do whatever I wanted with my ears. Which made me ecstatic, even though she added the part about not getting facial or other body piercings.

So the day had finally come after 2 months of waiting. I had the money, and I had a ride. But unfortunately, Kat couldn't pick me up until 3, when I told Matt I would be there at 2. So I gave them a ring, and told Jimi (the owner) our new plans. After getting Lindsay and running ourselves over to the house (yes it was in a house, but it was VERY clean, and I knew them, and trust their practice completely. I know everything about their practice. They even have a new shop now!) Matt came out of the back room, surprised to see me. He thought I had chickened out. But oh how wrong he was. I filled out the paper work and Matt took me to the back room. Pictures of piercings literally covering the walls. I was very comfortable in here, since Jimi had read my aura there a few weeks before. Matt picked the right diameter ring for my ear (since my anti-tragus is "FUCKING HUGE"). It was a 16g 3/8", even though he had to bend it out of shape to get it into my ear later. He chose a good location, and seemed to be quite excited since my anti-tragus is so big, he could have fun placing it. He lined up in the middle of it and put lubricant on the curved needle. I called Kat over to squeeze her hand. No matter how much I wanted this, I was nervous. We had to wait fro Brandon to come in, since he is an apprentice, and was supposed to be watching it. From what Lindsay said I was shaking, but neither Matt or I noticed this. I grabbed Kat's wrist and held it tight even before the needle started going through.

Matt told me to take a deep breath and breath out when he told me to. He said now, and I pushed out all of the air in my lungs just as he pushed the needle through my ear. The worst was over, but my hand was still clasped tightly to Kat's arm. I couldn't let go just yet. It had hurt I'm sure, but not nearly as bad as everyone had told me it would. They all said it would be horrible and all these things, but really it wasn't that bad. Very bearable. And I didn't hear the infamous pop that everyone talks about either. Now it was time for the ring. Very bent out of shape in Matt's hand he lined it up, and pushed it through my new hole. It bled a little, but not much. And even though that part didn't hurt at all I still squeezed Kat's hand more than ever. I now had a cute little ring in my ear. Since I never wore lobe earrings back then, it was very cute.

I cleaned it 3 times a day with anti-bacterial soap and alcohol, and of course the anti-septic I was given for the first 10 days. My ear was a bit strange. It honestly did nothing for the first 2 weeks. The night I got it done, it hurt a little bit, but nothing much. Having the wind blow on it from an open window wasn't a good idea. It looked like it was completely healed for 2 weeks, didn't get crusties or anything. But then finally it started to get weird. It used to bleed a little bit when I cleaned it, nothing big, just a little. But after 2 months, the crusties went away, and I was healed. I waited about a month to change my ring, even though I desperately wanted a horseshoe with blue spiked ends ever since I started wanting to get it pierced. Once I finally got money again I made my way back to Mystic, and bought it along with 16g 7/16" for my lobes. And oh how cute it is J I love my anti-tragus dearly, and am considering getting another right next to it so it's a double. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
