My piercing is sometimes called "Stupid, Idiotic, Childish..etc" Well, to tell you the truth, I had the nerve to do it and that is all that matters! I am told that I was "TOO YOUNG". Well the people that told me this don't even know me! My mom and dad gave me the permission and they are really strict! So that proves them wrong!

I wanted my cartilage pierced for awhile because I wanted to be different then my other friends. It would show that I had the strength to do it. But, mainly I wanted it for ME! I liked it and thought it'd look cool.

So about a week before last Thanksgiving, I had an appointment with Cora. She would meet me at a hair salon where she'd pierce me. She was unemployed, but did this through the state. She had the certification from the state to be able to pierce people.

She gave my mom and I papers to sign. While we were signing them, she took ALL of the utensils out of new packages. She asked me to sit in the chair.

As I sat there, I got nervous. She told me she'd count to 3 and put the needle through. So, of course on 3, there goes the needle! It was a stinging sort of pain. Not to bad that I couldn't tolerate it!

She said that putting the ring through would be the most painful part. I braced myself for that! She held the needle in my ear with the cork on the back. She tried putting the ring in, but somehow she just couldn't!

So she kept on trying and I was crying. Everyone was telling me I should just not let her finish it and leave. She said that she wouldn't charge me. I was thinking "oh I came here for a piercing, but I leave with a hole in my ear and blood! I want it done now!"

I was not going to give up! So she said we should wait for it to heal, then try putting the ring in again. So she put a starter stud in it and gave me the ring in case I wanted to put it in there myself.

She gave me a sheet from the piercing company that said on cartilage piercings, to use betodine. She even gave me some of that free! Each day, 2 times a day, I'd take the backing off the earring and clean it off with the betodine.

I would dip a Q-Tip in betodine and then put it one my ear. I would twist the stud around, then dip another Q-Tip in water to wash it off.

Now I have read on many websites, that I shouldn't have used Betodine. Well, I don't regret getting the piercing, nor do I regret using Betodine. The cleaning instructions she gave me worked just fine and my piercing is all healed up and perfect looking.

For some reason, people think that I got this piercing done with a gun! If they were paying attention, no I didn't, and no I don't reccomend it!

I am not going to let Cora pierce me ever again. She's a nice women, but if she gives me the wrong cleaning instructions on my navel, which I am getting pierced soon, my navel would look HORRIBLE! One of my friends got her tongue pierced by her, and Lord only knows how she has to clean it!

I am asked many questions. Here are some questions and my answers:

*Did it hurt? Yes it did, but I'd do it again because the pain was worth getting a beautiful piercing.

*Does it hurt to move it around? No, there is no pain involved as I move it.

*Did she use a needle? Yes! Piercing guns are not intended to be used on any piercing except ear LOBES!

*How long did it take to heal? About 1 month

*What cleaning solution do I use now? I don't use any. But I'm not saying you DON'T have to clean it. I get it wet when I get a shower.

*Does it hurt anymore? No, just occasionally when I sleep on it when the ball is in the middle of my ear and it gets squashed. Otherwise..no, it feels good!

I think that piercings are cool and I love mine. My grandparents do too! Some people may say that 12 is too young to get a piercing, but as long as you have you parents permission, it's fine. I think that if your parents don't want you to get it, that you SHOULDN'T go to some little shop and get it pierced illegally. I DIDN'T get my piercing done illegally as you know if you read the beginning.

I hope you enjoyed my piercing experience. PLEASE E-MAIL ME TELLING ME IF YOU LIKED IT. If you should have any more questions or you want to talk to me about pierings, please feel free to e-mail me!
