This experience started when I was about 12, my mommal and I were in line at the candy store getting some laffy taffys (yummmm), while waiting in a very long line (due to those damn beanie babies! I have some for sale, if anyone wants one ;) ) I had gotten my lobes done for a second time a few days ago, so I guess I hand ears on the brain or something, in any event, I started looking at peoples ears while we waited for all the old ladies beat each other up. One of the workers had a tragus, a rook and an industrial, I was totally amazed. At the time my mother and I ohhhed and ahhhed at it, thinking how brave she was, little did I know what I would end up doing to myself when I was a little older.

After getting my conch in May, right before school was out, I got the piercing bug, I had had it for a while, but it was just for lobe piercings with ::shudders:: guns. So now I had it, and my mother was being very evil about what I wanted (vert. labret, nostril, rook). After showing her some pictures, and reading a million experiences, I got her to OK it, WHOOHOO!

On to the real experience, it took me a week to make up the money to get it done, when I finally did, we had to wait another week, so my mom would be on vacation and STUFF ( I guess she thought Id chicken out, which I almost did). We sent the 'date' for Monday, after my senior pictures. I wanted to have my friends there, to see my pain, but they both chickened out.

I do the whole release form, cut my wrist and sign in blood, the usual. I find out they are gonna have to special order my barbell, so I decide to do the initial piercing with two CBRs. I'm just standing there, looking around, waiting for my piercer to come get me, after a few seconds, this really shy, underspoken guy comes and asks me if I'm ready, of course I am!

After the normal small talk and about 3 glove changes (which should always happen), finally we get to the marking, he was almost dead on, we had to move the back one up about a mm, not too bad. Finally I have to lay down on the bed, this is where I kinda get the idea my piercer is kinda nervous, but I just put it in the back of my head, I'm not too concerned about it, I've had a few bad piercings in my life, what's another one? In the end, I totally trust him, after all, he knows what he's doing.

Right before he's about to put the needle to my ear, he takes this huge deep breath, which doesn't comfort me AT ALL

Now its time for the pain, the top one went first WHOA! This one hurt. My conch didn't hurt this bad, and I got that done with an 8g needle. After the first piercing, I'm in considerable pain, he does the 'normal are you ok?' While I'm lying there with a needle through my ear, and we are only halfway done... yea, I'm just fine, juuust fine...

At first, my brain said I was done with the pain, but then realized there was one more to go..

The second one didn't hurt as much as the first, which I thought was kinda odd, but wasn't about to question why I was in less pain. Now I'm really scatter brained, again that question, are you ok.. I hate that.

I was so worried about the insertion of the CBRs, I just KNEW they were gonna hurt. Good thing they didn't... shit, I would have cried, and I'm not one to cry about a wimpy piercing.

The CBRs are in now, but before I could sit up, the back piercing starts to bleed. The poor guy was so sweet about it, he was like ' ohh, this ones bleeding, I can see a q-tip with that squidgy stuff on it, getting what little blood I had lost cleaned up.

By this time it didn't really hurt too bad, just felt like a bruise ( what is it with piercings and feeling like a bruise? I don't understand that) Anyway, I felt like I was about to pass out, cuz I hadn't eaten anything all day, but I wasn't about to tell anyone that, cuz I'm a big girl.

I didn't get to eat until almost 5 (I got it done at 3), let me not recommend that, AT ALL. Eat about 2 hours before, and something right after, I personally like those Red Bull drinks, if you're not hungry. They are soo yummy, and they take away the light-headedness.

And also, let me recommend, not getting new glasses right after you get pierced, that makes your whole world go tipsy for a while.

Today is Tuesday and I had alot of blood this morning to clean up, the only cleaning I did was to get all the blood off, which only made it bleed more, I've never bled before, I guess its better than what some people go through, so I'm not going to complain, another thing, don't have long hair, it just easier that way, I'm getting mine cut soon, so I dot have to clean blood clots out of them and dot have to worry about my hair getting caught up in them. I think its coming along well. Better than any other piercing I've had in my cartilage. I've had alot of problems with them, so we will see how this comes along.

All in all I think I got a good piercing, and hopefully I won't lose it.

Thanks for listening to my experience, and I recommend this piercing to everyone
