Well to start, i chose to discuss my experience with my industrials. It was a piercing i'd wanted for a long time, but never had the chance to get before. I had looked for the piercing that i would be something that i would like alot.

One day me and a couple friends decided to go to the studio to get some piercings. We had a friend who had recently got a job as a piercer and we wanted to help him out by getting some piercings so he could pay some bills. He gave us a great deal, as well. It was $60 for both of my industrials. Since it was the best price i could find i decided to go along with it.

I had to wait till last to get my piercings because he wasn't that experienced with industrials. I wasn't really nervous at all, because it was just another hole, after all. When it was my turn, he brought me in, and explained the procedure to me. After finding a placement i was happy with, he got out the needles and things that he was going to need.

Surprisingly, it hurt alot more than i thought it would. It made kind of a popping sound as it went through, which wasn't pleasant at all. I got up to look at it in the mirror. I liked it alot, because it was one step closer to the image of my self that i had always wanted, but little did i know he had not pierced them correctly (which is why you should research any mod you get ahead of time).

I needed a few minutes in between to calm down, because it bled alot. The piercer gave me a bottle of water and a popsicle(when i rated the place as horrible, i meant about the piercing, not about the quality of treatment. They're nice guys). The other one hurt alot more because i was tense, and i was happy when it was over...as well as a bit lightheaded. He told me that it happend alot and that i should go get something to eat.

Several people whom i talked to afterwards, told me that they didnt look right, and i was really defensive abouthem. i was having my doubts, and was really confused as to whether it was really a good idea to go through with them, or not. i had done something i hadnt done before...doubting a mod.

I was really disappointed as to how the healing was going, as well. I was taking care of it by doing salt soaks(not that often), And being really gentle with the healing tissue. It was extremely irritated, and i was still finding alot of blood around the piercing, and on my pillow when i woke up in the morning. This continued for a long time. I didnt know if this was natural or not(well, as natural as a piece of metal sticking through your flesh can be). BME was extremely helpful in helping me find different techniques of cleaning and aftercare of my industrials, but they continued to degrade.

I was very sad because i thought i was going to lose them. $60 spent, and i would end up having nothing to show for it, except for two barbells in my hands, and scars on my ears. i continued to care for them, determined not to give up the fight, i really wanted to keep the damned things with all my heart. I'll tell you what, theres nothing more disheartening than fighting a losing battle.

After a few months, they still hadn't healed at all and still bled a little, and were swollen. The right side already started to reject. In a couple more weeks it grew out completely. The left one hadn't changed much since i got it (meaning swollen and still bleeding a little), so i just took it out, and kept it clean till it healed. Needless to say, i was quite unhappy by this turn of events, but hey, what can you do?

One of the reasons why it made me so mad, was the fact that some part of me was no longer there, and i had grown to love them in that very short time. They were one of my favorite piercings to get, and i was denied that chance. Although they were only my fourth, and fifth piercings, but that doesn't change my outlook on it any.

I still love mods(as my 8 gauge tongue, and 0 gauge ears will show), and have plans for a few more, including gauging my ears up to and maybe over 00gauge, getting my lip pierced on the left side, and hopefully sleeves in the future. Thanks for listening, and that concludedes my industrial experience.
